|
|
Years before becoming the co-creator of the graphic novel Argent Starr, Altemus was the designer and Art Director of the official magazines for nearly twenty sci-fi and fantasy movies produced throughout the ’80s and ’90s. These were licensed products, published by Ira Friedman Inc. The first one of those Altemus and Ira ever did was for Blade Runner.
Materials retained from that magazine's production include an original pencil sketch, stills of the Bradbury building, 70mm FX shot - a frame clipped from a 1982 work print. Additionally from the magazine, various press proofs and script except, with ending not in the final film.
Now we have posted materials gathered for that publication, including original production drawing for Deckard's gun, on the Argent Starr blog.

That souvenir magazine was the first Blade Runner item I ever purchased, and I had probably removed that poster to put on my wall at the time. Thanks for the behind the scenes info. Just curious, your wording implies you are not Altemus, but just a fan or compadre', or are you in fact Altemus in the flesh?

Are these items for sale? Asking since you posted in the 'prop shop', not 'general discussion section'.

Seeing what interest there might be, if I get a good offer. _________________ ALTEMUS |

I am in fact, the same Altemus that designed and illustrated the poster for the original Blade Runner magazine. Some of the text posted here came from other items posted on social media for our graphic novel Argent Starr, and that since that's usually posted as Argent Starr, the text is always written in the third person.
