JT, you'd like to see something REALLY hardcore ?

OK, look at this : Brett's tobacco box !

This prop appears in 3 scenes, a very nice item related to Brett, an old fashion smoker who likes to roll his cigarettes...

Here is the box I've found on eBay a few months ago... Don't know if the Harley-Davidson style eagle featured on the top actualy was on the screen-used box, otherwise I think it's rather spot-on !

I think I was lucky to find one because I've never seen another pop-up on eBay since then...

Fred

PS : There's no other marks or logo other than the eagle on the top.

Found a few frames in the film with better detail. The top of the box is engraved, but with a zigzag type of border.

Check out this pic:

I scored one really similar on evilbay, but I want to keep hunting for an exact match.

Hey there,
I have 2 questions if someone can help me,

Thanks a lot Skin Job 66 for the explanation on the ashtray, I bought one, it is in perfect condition, do you still recommend removing the paint? I mean, it's super glossy so maybe the primer wont work on it but I'm not experienced with paint. If I should remove the paint, how do you usually do it, with a chemical or it's just sanding? seeing the shape, I'm not sure that sanding would be easy. (I do however have experience with sanding )

now, another question that has nothing to do with that, I just noticed while going through the entire thread again that nice holder for all the mugs in the kitchen. Does someone know if this is something that exists and can still be found or it would have to be build from scratch? I kind of want one in my kitchen now...

thanks a lot and have a nice day

Hey eethan,

I'm not sure if this was an existing item or if they simply mocked one up to fit their needs, but it isn't a difficult thing to build. I made a slightly less complicated version for my own galley:

wow, amazing display!
yeah, I still wonder what they used, it feels like an existing packaging or something.
I might end up making one but if anyone has an idea, don't hesitate Wink
thanks a lot

Yep, should be easy to build: one flat plank with the round form of the cups cut-up and shaped, and another plank with just the holes matching the top plank that you'll fix atop.
