Again, it's unfortunate that in my efforts (our efforts) to be transparent with the creation, and show the progress and allow for changes in hopes of satisfying those interested, it only exposed the art to those here who see it as an opportunity to be exploited.
How very sad. It shuts so many doors. - R13 _________________ Gosh, you've really got some nice toys here . . .

OK good.
R13 has cleared his name, Critter has stated his case clearly.
I apologise if I got the wrong end of the stick.
The listings for the knock off plates are down as of this mornng.
Hopefully we can all move on from this unfortunate event.

I think it would be a good idea to post the seller's username or link to the auction or Etsy page as a warning to those tempted to buy from him. This is what they do in the RPF... |

I think it's the same seller, but I can't see the Bladerunner VIN plates on either.
Can anyone spot them?

I'm 99% certain they were on the U.S. eBay site on Thursday or Friday, but now they are gone from there too. |

eethan, et al -
So. Forgive my ignorance, but while the headline IS in English the text is a mix - hence my reluctance to click incorrectly to "reply".
And for the record, I updated my info to include USNA (North America).

Did a quick peruse, but I didn't see the plaque on the two BROTHERFOSTER listings either.

I guess what you are saying is that I sent the link to ebay.be as I saw it because I'm in Belgium. but those auctions are worldwide.
Anyway, all is well now I think as the guys has apologised and removed the listing.

Thank you for your comment. Nice to know my original is preferred.
It seems that, while not a direct copy, he certainly used the key elements that I came up with, spelling out and then adding a couple more.
A rose by a different name, but still a rose. I guess I will take he efforts as a compliment and leave it at that. - R13 _________________ Gosh, you've really got some nice toys here . . . |

yes, clearly it's the work of someone that has a model and is trying to do something that's not going to be said as similar. so he changed EVERYTHING to make sure no one could say he copied, and he put all the logos that were not on the original in the same purpose.
but yeah, I think, take that as a compliment. The guy accepted to remove the copy from sale and made a new one inspired by your work.
cheers |

Yes, the fact that he was willing to make that effort is more than I expected.

Just got the strong brass lid chain in for the replacement chains for the MK1 boxes.
I have four people on the list for replacement chains.
These will go out Monday.
I have enough chain for everyone on the MK1 box run. Just let me know if you need one and I'll send it out.
If I don't hear from you, I'll assume your chain was OK.

OK, I've had a message that the replacement chain I sent is too short.
I tested the length on the prototype box and it was fine. But, the boxes are ahnd made and there are variations.
I should point out that the chain doesn't have to fix to the same screw hole in the lid, as it's covered by the foam liner insert.
If anyone else wants a longer chain then let me know.

Two people have been in touch from the MK1 box run.
It seems that the glue that sticks the leatherette to the foam isn't holding perfectly.
I've been in touch with the manufacturer, who recommended this product to me. I had asked for the correct adhesive for this vinyl/leatherette combination.
They said this may happen in a few cases. I suggested they put it into the product information.
If you find you're having this issue, there's a fix.
Remove the foam layer form the box, gently peel apart the leatherette and foam, let them air dy for a day or two, then apply a solvent based glue such as Evo-Stik or Thixofix to both surfaces, let it dry and press carefully together.
This should hold it fine.
I know this doesn't apply to all the boxes in the run, as the two sample pieces I made using the same foam and vinyl are still both fine, so it seems to be random.
Apologies for this. In did the initial research and used the 'correct' adhesive....
