but to me, it seems that the leds on the tomen version are not accurate, they seem to have a weird shape due to the fact that they are special leds that you push to activate. I think they will protrude more. It was a bit annoying for me to pay that much to get something very different visually. I agree the wireless is nice though |

Got my kit and mounted it. It's really easy : turn two hexagonal screws to detach the cylinder cover and then two more tiny ones to detach the rod itself. I chose my Tomenosuke "Retailer Edition" to test it.
The assembly notice is here : https://tenshu53.exblog.jp/238230128/
You can see it ON and OFF, and the box the rod was shipped in. (I placed the original rod in it)
To activate, you just push the LEDs. If you pull them out (with the supplied tool), it goes out.
Anyone know the name of the tool used to pull the LEDs out again ? (I fear I'll lose it eventually) |

Yes, it's right.
But Tomenosuke came in with a very elegant idea/solution. It's really very easily switched. (no import taxes too, because they ship things "accordingly")
I did it because I own several Tomes : The Pro, the Retailer, the Toku-San Special (blued).
It surely looks nicer than the "real prop" with the white spaghettis , I mean the cut cables from the wiring that never worked.
Thinking of it, in the first movie, the fifth bottom LED is only seen during a few frames in the "Zhora chase" scene. |

what bothers me is that flashy green ring around the leds when they are off. it's looks quite different than the normal leds. appart from that it sure is an elegant solution! |

Sure.
When they are lit, they look normal. But when off, it's a bit strange. I guess that was the only way to do it ?
Again, having more than 1 Tome made this easier for me. |

No problem. Lighting can be misleading (different colors), that's why I did 2 shots of the "right" side". |
