Did you guys watch ALIEN Covenant?

I'm guessing everybody saw the homage to H.R. Giger's interpretation of Arnold Böcklins painting "The Isle of the dead" in the scene where the temple where David lives is seen from afar?

Arnold Böcklin "Die Toteninsel", 1883:

H.R. Giger, 1977:

There are quite a few versions of this painting by the original artist:

Will upload a screen shot from ALIEN Covenant when it comes out on Blu-ray....

Haag's a brilliant artist. I wish I had discovered his work earlier.

I also loved the giger type drawings on David's table. Really felt like Scott tried to pay homage to Giger many times in this movie.I also imagine the way David's lair was laid out was similar to the way giger had his studio in London when working on the original alien...but maybe I'm over thinking thongs.

I do think, as you are, that Ridley is still putting that hommage to Giger in every Alien movies. Makes sense Wink

As well he should, without Giger, Alien would have been just another horror flick.
