Welcome to Propsummit and definitely interested in seeing pics of your "real steel" COP. |
Sure thing. I'm moving this weekend and should be able to get at it sometime next week. |

Any info would be awesome.

It's also called a hantha bird. Between the two searches, you should be able to find one. The trick is finding one that is both large enough and close enough to match (or at least to suit you). Good luck! _________________ Pete |

I think the bluish colour is due the room lights.
Original capture (cropped)

Seems like gun takes the color from light ambient. Logical, if the gun have a silver/chrome finish. _________________

I would think if it had a chrome finish it would have at least some other hot spot reflections as the trigger guard does. If only on the edges as a highlight. |

If we learned anything from Karl's worldcon photos it's that they manipulated the light so effectively in BR that captures/photos just can't be trusted to tell us how things really look.
In this photo the light is directional, there is light coming from only one side of the image. The other side is dark, there is no fill light to glint off the top of the gun.
The trigger guard, and the muzzle are not at the same angle to the light, and the trigger guard is smooth and rounded, while the muzzle, or "face" of the gun, is not.

Thought I'd go ahead and archive this.
Sidkit used to sell a model kit of the pre-production version of the .357 COP (not used in BR).
Here's a link to the concept drawings and brief history of this version:
http://props.steinschneider.com/cop_357/cop_357.htm
Here's some photos of the built-up Sidkit model kit:
Now, if you're like me, you may have bought the kit but haven't got around to building it yet.
Please note that the building instructions have understandably been taken down at Sidkit, due to the kit being sold out.
However, here's a link for anyone needing the instructions (.pdf):

P.S. SpaceArt has one listed on their (German) site with some additional pictures: http://spaceart.de/Artikel/br009.shtml |

The silver model has been out of stock for quite some time now.
As I've checked back now and then, the black version seems to be in stock and a few dollars cheaper than the silver version:

Remember, if you're shipping to the U.S. the tip will be dipped in orange paint.
