OK after some consideration I am going to officially offer a Silver Ghost model.

And I will make a new Metal casting mold for the Ammo Housing.

The next Question is the LEDs, I am with the Blue LEDs for the Ammo Clip/Mag, but I think the green LEDs should stay and be high brightness like the Blues..

I have considered the difference in doing these, there is a tradeoff, less paint and chemical treatment BUT more work in casting insuring the best metal castings, (no filler and paint to cover minor flaws..) and more sanding and polishing.

Also there is the added cost for the clear grips which will also need new molds.

I am also considering offering White and Black grips for those that want them and matching Ammo Clips if some want them.

So I figure these will run $1600.00 plus shipping.

I will also look for Silver Brass, (Nickel Plated?) but considering the shortage in brass I cannot count on getting any, I had to do a big internet hunt the last two times to get the ammo for the past runs.

So post here AND email me at racprops@cox.net to get on the list.

Pictures here: http://propsummit.com/viewtopic.php?t=4495

Thanks.

Rich

Sounds very tempting. You can count me in.
Email sent.

Would it be possible to get All 6 LEDs in blue ? (so there would be only 2 colors : metal & blue)

Will you still be doing a run of your standard version or is it only the silver one at the moment?

I am finishing up on a standard run now..most if not all are spoken for, if you want one I can add you to the list and see how things go.

As for the two versions I plan of doing both side by side.

So if you looking for one around the first of the year or miss out on the current run (prepaid and first caller first) you could get one out of the next run.

If you want either model please email me.

Here is a minor problem and question.

I realized yesterday that IF I do the ammo housing in metal it will short out my way of making the removable ammo clip.

I have the same problem with a metal ammo clip.

My old non-removable clip will work with the housing in metal and would work even with the clip in metal. Because I used to wire the green LEDs in the side rod directly to the power connections inside the clip.

So is the removable automatic powered ammo clip worth about an extra $50.00?

I think I can make it work with a special pair of insulated contacts in the ammo housing and a Plastic back to the clip allowing the plastic to insulate for the wiper contacts. I may even be able to make this plastic back in clear alongside the clear grips.

Could you coat the inside with rubber or plasti dip. then just insulate the contacts on the ammo housing. I know if I was ever going to build a real shooter. The metal ammo housing would be the way I'd go. I'd be afraid the plastic one would get to hot and crack or melt, next to the barrel.

The clip is a pressure fit so that will tare off the plastic dip.

That would take a lot of firing to get your barrel that hot.

Silver Ghost UPDATE:

NOW with pewter Ammo Housing and Ammo Clip:

And yes you ARE seeing a Silver 223 Round in the cover, the first three models will get these, and IF I can find more so will later models.

Rich That looks Fantastic!

Are you going with SS bolts?

Also are you going to swap out that ammo housing post to an aluminum hollow post?

At this point I have sorted out the Steyr Receivers.

Now I need to sort out the end caps, side covers, ammo housings, ammo clips, Trigger guards, grip frame, butt plate, all will be sanded and polish until I have the best 9 sets for the 9 Silver Ghosts.

The question is what level of polish will be best:

Full polished with a buffing wheel or a satin finish??

I need a vole on this.

Note the Silver Ghost shown above is in Satin finish.

Rich
