I spoke w/my Toma.. connection. "it's all the same pcs as the Pro,
except a few are actually more accurate. Things they noticed after the
fact. So they spent the $ for re-tooling. You have to completely paint and
assemble it your self. And the directions are in Japanese. So you better
be mechanically inclined ? or you will really have your hand full."

That's C & P from my email.

So it is basically all metal (with the exception of the Charter revolver receiver and barrel) just like on the pro model?

If it's the same as my world-con pro? Which is what he said.
It will be all metal except for the Steyr mag.
Just like the "real prop".

I'm in the same boat mate..

I just don't have the confidence that Aus customs would let this through and I'm bitter as all hell…

And the plastic bulldog frame and barrel. If the barrel is plastic again (it wasn't on the original kits), hopefully it won't be permanently attached like on the finished pieces.

Gotta pool some cash together to snag one of these.

I still only have a Rick Ross V1 model. It'll be cool t oupgrade to an accurate sized pistol after all this time.

To my English and Aussy friends:

IF you can get them shipped in say three packages as parts I have found I have been able to get models into England and Japan.

Up until now all it took was a permit from the Aussy Police to import models.

Has that changed??

Cool
Hey Mark.... All you need is a B709A permit for one of these, issued from the Police in the State where you live. Then Aussie customs would let it through. These guns are restricted/controlled by Australian customs...not strictly prohibited. Depends on each States' gun laws as you probably know already. I guess it's a confidence issue with how the laws are administered.... Don't blame you for your cynicism. Too many inconsistencies and strange decisions when the red-tape floats around. Twisted Evil

Cheers fella's --

As you know each State is different and regrettably, each customs officer is different also. When I imported my Sidkit (even though it came in a number of deliveries as Rich suggests), Customs wanted to burn it simply because the hammer and trigger moved… It was a lot of footwork to get it sorted and not being the most tolerant of people I wasn't impressed in the least...

That said, given that this is such a unique opportunity I will consider passing on it very carefully…

Warmest thanks again

MARK

I can understand the frustration of our Australian/English/Canadian members here. As cratercritter as mentioned Custom agents are not on the same page concerning the law and that, in the end, is very maddening Confused

For one agent there's no problem with the gun, while the other wants to destroy it.

As Staar said, it's up to you to go into battle-mode to make sure they don't destroy your property (as it happened to me with Canadian Custom Agency).

You've to be sure to get the proper forms and to jump to the necessary hoops to have the upper hand...Good luck to all

As Rich said, an option would be to have the kit shipped to one of our members in the US that would be willing to split it up into a couple of packages and send on it's way to the country in question, each one spread out by several days so they don't all arrive at customs at the same time. This was how I sent my Snub nose kits to Oz and the UK without any problems.

I would also suggest not including the kit box, which has a big ol' illustration of a gun on it, or the instructions, which could be scanned and emailed. I also would suggest not including the dummy, but very real looking, brass .44cal bullets.

Still a risk, for something so expensive, but if you want a Tomenosuke bad enough (I have the Pro, it's spectacular!) it may be your only chance to get one.

I'm not sure how some packages go under the radar whilst others are checked. Am I right to assume that if it has recorded delivery it will definitely be checked?

There is a gunsmith near my town. Is there anyway I can get it delivered to my address using their lisence/permit details if they allowed me?

My wife is going to hate me, but I had to strike while the iron is hot. I'm one of the 200. Can't wait to get this kit!
