If this was stable for a gun position, the long diagonal section with the cut out would not be needed at all and all would be needed was the front prop end and a long flat base. It is essentially trying to make the flat end of the grip butt plate into a stand itself, but that leaves the center of gravity uncontrolled. Too bad the butt plate isn't steel, because you could use a strong magnet to hold the gun all by itself with no other parts touching.
Also by making the gun's butt plate sit flat it grounds the gun into the display and environment. You want displayed objects to seem separated from their surrounding so the focus is only on it, unless you incorporate it into the base somehow, by designing something that is just as interesting as the gun, as a diorama does. I remember seeing a display many years ago that looked like a charging station for a BR gun, that helped light it up and looked very Sci-Fi. It was impressive and added, rather than subtracted from the gun.

That is what the problem is. we did the two best stands and they HAD to do something different.
So that is what they came up with.

That is so dumb, it fits the Gas Gun because there is no ammo housing...
At lease they should have done their own work.
Or ripped mine off.

It does work better with the dart gun, though, because the grip base is at less of an extreme angle.
It's the angled buttplate which causes the Tomenosuke to point skyward on the stand.

They should have stuck with the Hartford style stand.

Hi Guys, great to have the site back up and running again!
Yup, that's one hideous piece of acrylic! Funny that they briefly considered producing a version of my stand design, but I never heard from them.
My stand is not as stable since it only has three contact points rather than four. But Tomenosuke probable discovered the real problem with mass producing my stand. The thickness of plexiglas can varie by up to .020" and since my stand uses "eggrate" style joints the width of the slot in relation to the thickness of the plex is critical. Too loose and the stand is wobbly, to tight and the stand may break when assembled, or require some hand filing to adjust the width of the slot (as mine did by the end user). To help improve the fit I actually had about twenty different cutting files prepped for the laser, with different slot widths in .001" increments. I would cut the stands one at a time, measuring the thickness of the plex first to select the appropriatly sized file. So it was very time consuming and not an efficient way to produce large quantities of stands. It's one reason I'm not making them anymore.
But perhaps I need to consider a redesign... _________________ Dave

Well there are possibility two even three stands from me.
First is my old display stand.
Then there is this one being made up by a friend:
And last a complete case"
For your consideration.

That metal one is pretty awesome actually. I would put some felt on it though.
