Permissions are an issue, and I also don't want to publish any picture without them.
I have enough material for now to launch the project, but I'll appreciate all pictures from original authors. Mainly, I've interest in the casting process, design stages, and so on. In fact, this was the starting point of all. If you have pictures collected thru years from here and there, you could select the ones you have rights, or the ones you know origin. The permissions process can be done by me myself (if email address provided of authors, of course).
Also, I don't want to show or include any effort made for others without a notice, credits and so on. Por example, the Braun objects identified by ijustdoeyes will include credits to him (thanks Cem!). And so on.
Processing time will be a hard task for this kind of things, but its mandatory.

All images found on the internet usualy are 72dpi. You can't print them because the printing process requires 300dpi images. If you try to print a 72dpi image, you'll have an horrible "fluffy" effect !
I don't want to talk for Joan here but he's right, to avoid licensing rights issues, this project MUST collect original images only... so please, no screen caps or on-set photos !

Being (you) a graphic designer, I appreciate all your comments a technical advises you can add to the project. Your opinions are worth the value!
I will redo all my own snapshots to maximum quality affordable by my DSLR camera. Currently I use a Canon EOS 30D (8Mp) in RAW mode, with Canon 17-55 and Sigma 28-200 lenses. I need some better studio lights but this is also in process... The slides and negatives I could use will be scanned to 300dpi 24-bit. All the post-process will be done with Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop CS3.
Oh, just talking about this, I'll use InDesign CS3 to make the page layout of entire book.

If you are interested in the Blaster Replica History information I compiled and some comparison shots I might be willing to lend it for this project. It is much closer to being done that I have shown so far, but with all the new finds, it may never truly be done anyway. The basic information is there though.

Fantastic! I'm working in the page layout, assigning subjects and pages to each one. Seems like I will not have free pages soon... Then, I will reserve 4 pages to blaster history and comparison. Could you supply 300dpi pics?
Another detail for all contributors. Next week I'll have a permission / license contract in hand to tie all legal aspects of these collaborations. Basically, I only demand the right to put text and images in this book, reserve the rights of the book itself, and not more. No derivative works will be done from the book without consent of all contributors.
Also, I count with you in the new list?
