I'd say Leon's is the black one, but the trigger guard is suspiciously glinty.
Is it possible that they used a silver gun and painted it flat black (except on the trigger guard)?

My vote is for black version. Perhaps the guard shines with light, I don't know, but in the hi-res snaps some is clear: pistol is black. _________________

It's black but for the trigger guard...impossible to see your fingernail when you squeeze the trigger on that gun...the only safety you have is that you have to squeeze the trigger all the way to the back for the gun to fire... |

I hope soon, the box is all turned inside out, all the markings on the gun are covered with black tape. The paper work is from a different hobbie store than the link I posted and it says 30.00 sci-fi toy. Im guessing this is to get it threw customes which could be a good thing for you guys in England and such. The recept paper work was taped to the out side of the box in a small ziplock bag. like a bag you would put a scale in!!!!LOL! _________________ The other Karl! |

If you ask me, the color of the COP .357 is still inconclusive:
But perhaps I'm biased because I have the chromed Marushin! |

Wow - the butt on the airsoft also looks 50% wider than the real COP - can you confirm, or is it the light/angle?
It also appears the real COP has a satin finish, which would mean even less reflection & glint when seen on film, so still very possible that the screen-used COP is silver and not black.
The debate continues... |

Well, Aku-Aku, thanks for the pics...but you're holding the gun with your left hand (Leon holds it with his right one).
Lights can be tricky 'cause of the angle (the room at Tyrell's is lit from a high angle and full of smoke )...so, I still believe that the gun is black with a unpainted trigger guard and if somebody can offer pics/explanations to the contrary, then by the Gods, I'll stick to my gun! (no pun intended ) |

Is it that obvious? lol! Since I used my cellphone camera, a tripod wasn't an option...
Sorry to display my fingernails when you were all hoping to see knuckles (Joberg - it makes no difference - it's the orientation of the pistol and direction of light that guided me...) |

Me too!
Here's a link to Phil's site - good info and a pdf of the COP owner's manual:

Knowing that all props/costumes, etc have a satin/mat finish (no glare nor reflection of cast/crew/lights, etc) I'm still willing to bet that the gun was somehow transformed or painted...just my experience. |

Guys, there was never a blued version available in the real COP. Only stainless steel. The gun was made from solid stainless steel parts, and that was the only finish it was ever sold in. _________________ I don't have enough blasters! |
