Right you are Noeland...nobody said anything about a blued Cop, just a black painted one just for a technical point of view, i.e.: no reflections on any props allowed on the set

No reflections? Well even Deckard's pistol was finished so it had a glossy look. And have you guys ever tried to paint highly polished stainless steel? Doesn't work very well. Wink

Really, Rich? That's what you choose to contribute to this conversation? Bragging? That's so sorry, sad and pathetic.

HOLY CRAP!!!! It's like seeing a unicorn!

Truly, I have spoken to gunsmiths, dealers, and prop masters. I've scoured gun shows, and discussed the thing with BR fans many times, done my own research online, and no one that I'd ever spoken with had ever seen a blued COP derringer. In fact the company bio online lists it as only being produced in stainless as well.

And then ironfist pulls a blued one out of gunbroker!

Very nice work. Goes to show when Blade Runner is concerned, anything really is possible. Leon COULD be wielding a blued COP after all. And if it's a rare one, or a combo, like some others have suggested, all possible now.

Now I have to try and find out just how many of these were produced. Off to email that seller to see if he can connect me with the fellow he got them from!!

I think you might find that as the guy once worked for COP (it said so in the copy) he might have run one off himself Blued.

A special personal version.

And good grief, I was just visiting,...I kind of regret that I trashed one of these, but at the time they were only costing $300.00.

I also regret I did not but a Spas Shotgun they were going for $400.00.

Well with the Air soft models selling for under $100.00 I don't think it would do very well.

On the onther hand done in metal (pewter) with a hollow bullets and working LED firing system like I did on my old plastic model at say $350.00 do you think they would sell??

I would be interested in a pewter version of the COP 357 but maybe in the $250 to $300 range? I understand that the airsoft model is a little larger than a real COP so one in metal and with the correct dimensions would be a great addition to a variety of collections (Blade Runner, Matrix, and Battlestar Galactica)

In the meantime I am looking for a real COP for my collection (not through GunBroker but via my local gun shop).

O.K. I can add a little more info, on the possibility of this being a one off. My best friend Todd's wife works at Rugers guns in Newport N.H. She builds guns. When I got my Sidkit parts I contacted her about having them blued. She told me I would need to give her a complete break down of whats in the metal. Because every once in a while the person who does the blueing gets a stainless piece into the fluid and what ever is in stainless ruins the entire batch of Blue? So the whole batch has to be dumped. And knowing how they do things in N.H. there pour it in the River! LOL! She suggest I just by the blue kit from Walmart because of the mystery metal. Well thats all I got hope it helps?

and for the record I was just as shocked to find it.

Figured I'd better archive these photos before they got taken down.

Archived webpage of sale: http://www.box.net/shared/6v43tlna9l

I always thought it was black, true also that cop was supossedly discontinued was due to being silver and hard to ocult...

Monica Belluci used a black one on The Matrix right? But those grips were... Ivory? Touch of class?

Black/ dark colors also act as mirrors for white light... Just check some harry potter wands on noblecollection site where some customers complained about getting brown wands when they were expecting gray ones...

So either it it was blackblued or silver painted black, i dont see it silver at all on leos hand.

Btw how/where/why is leo supposed to have that gun at the vk test?

That's why it's confusing...one is silver (normal one) and the other seems like the Blueing Team was involved
