On my side I may have a line for the boxes.

But as always everything moves way too slow.

Starr your more than welcome if you want to fill the requests here...

I am majorly tied up.

Hi mate.. So sorry for the lack of information - it certainly seems like there is robust interest in this thread.

At this stage I've had some initial discussions with Rich regarding the box because he felt it would be a great addition to his blaster - and I agree.

Rich is trying to source a manufacturer for the box so that it can be manufactured in one place (I cannot provide a 'run' of any of my props unfortunately), and I gather he has had some success recently.

I assume he's still going ahead with this - in light of the interest. If however it transpires that he's unable to make this available, then I will investigate other alternatives - including interest from members (here) who might want to provide them to the collectors.

I'll keep you posted..

Cheers for your patience eveyone..

MARK

The more and more I come back to this thread, the more I am captivated by it.

I'm not a big fan of weathered items, but this is a big exception and has changed my view at least in regards to doing justice to displaying the blaster.

It kind of reminds me of a comfortable well-worn piece of old leather. Perhaps this is because it evokes (to me) another Harrison Ford legacy - Indiana Jones.

The box with the brushes and various assorted ephemera look like they could be in Indy's desk, having served well in the field.

Hope this project stands up and grows some hair - I'd love to keep my Coyle Worldcon in one of these boxes. Wink

Thanks everone for the great feedback - sorry for being absent for a while. I purposefully took myself off the grid for a week - no mails, sms's etc. I need to address the pile of inconsiderate things that have accumulated on my desk in my absence as well as what's in my inbox. When that's done I will come back and answer questions ASAP.

In the meantime an update to say that Rich has unfortunately had to back out of providing the boxes - no issue at all, just too many things on his plate both personally and with the exclusive Propsummit blaster.

The good news is that I have had some brief discussions with propsjonnyb and I'm sure we can work something out for the community.

Regards

MARK

Sorry guys.. just hectically busy here unfortunately..

I have had discussions with propsjonnyb about making them in the UK and that seems like a good option. Over the holiday's I found an astonishing builder here in Aus and we have been discussing him taking on the boxes. In the end he told me (Friday) that unless I can guarantee at least 200 boxes he can't make it viable for his business - which is something I question, but then its his business... Sad

I have possibly found another supplier but I can't find the time to get out to him at the moment. If that fails I will get back to propsjonnyb and see if we can get it done through him....

Sincere apologies guys.. I will post again as soon as I can get an update...

regards

MARK

Thanks Mark for the info...it's hard for a business to do small run for a good price (learned my lesson with the Ennis tiles Crying or Very sad ); such is life I guess.

Just a quick note to everyone interested , this has not dissappeared off the horizon , I don't have the time to make then myself ( pressing projects!) so finding a manufacturer who will do quality work on small runs is difficult, suffice to say I have one lined up who is going to produce and cost a prototype, it will be built to Staars plans solid wood - felt lined , similarly there is a minimum run to get a base cost out . The estimated cost so far is £125UKP or $196 dollars plus shipping and we would need a minimum order for ten for this to go ahead, construction is in hand and I have the sample stickers for the Styer logo, so I will post pictures of the mock up as soon as I have it .
Once I have the sample, I will ask for deposits to secure orders.

I have to say this thread was what made my join the group. There is an immense pool of talent and energetic devotion that is greatly appreciated. I would be glad to join the list of interested parties in a production box.

Welcome Page...and yes many questions remain concerning the box:
wood and if yes, what kind, or stained MDF or even leather...do you want a "new look" or a "distressed look"? What about the logo on top and the felt inside...what about the underside?
Seems like inocuous questions but when you're making a run these become important to consider (I'm sure I forgot a few steps)...cost of material, time spent on one box (start to finish product) and making sure the price is within people's range.

Welcome Page. Not sure if this project will ever get going unless we can find a source for these boxes. Still I am always amazed on how much great talent we have on this board and just how generous they are with their ideas and work.
