Would these cans have liquid in them? I've read some stories on the RPF about cans springing leaks over time. |

No liquid on them since they'll be genuine, vintage, early 80s cans....
They'll be 95% close to the one hold by Dallas when Kane begins to feel bad during the chestburster sequence... _________________ THE FUTURE IS A THING OF THE PAST |

Believe me, THEY'LL BE 100% SCREEN ACCURATE !!!
OK, I tell you everything regarding these :
If you buy 2 cans, you'll get a NOSTROMO MUG, the one Dallas holds when he talks with MOTHER.
If you buy 3 cans, you'll get the NOSTROMO MUG + the NOSTROMO ASHTRAY. Brett and Lambert use the ashtray during the meal sequences and it can be clearly seen aside Kane's head when the chestburster rises from his chest...
Voilà !

I'm all for supporting these projects... and if there are cool, accurate extra goodies, all the better!

Made some mad-research with my cans of beer. The 80's cans are more straight from the top and cans of today have very curved design. I suppose Fred you are using these types I have pictures on left and right? 0,33 l cans.
Updated situation from my side of globe: Pls, reserve 2 for me. Haven't been able to touch the other finns, so two of us are still in!! |

Kai,
You're right about the cans general shape, I'm going to use 80's cans for this project... but 440ml / 16OZ cans instead, the 33ml ones featured in your photo are TOO small / short in size !
(I've considered producing this prop for weeks now... and have since become an expert in vintage beer cans, I can tell you !!!)

Many thanks for your orders, guys !
I'll post an update this afternoon with a second prototype, closer to the final product, just to give you a more accurate idea of the final result (I'll post comparison pics of the real, screen-used beer cans aside it) _________________ THE FUTURE IS A THING OF THE PAST |

Looks good. Will there be one seam where the label meets or two? Will the label go all the way to the top and the bottom of the can? Does this mean you won't get started until after November? |

Fred, your 2nd-generation prototypes look fantastic! Great work!
The screenshot you posted of Dallas drinking from an Aspen can suggests that the correct orientation of the label relative to the tab and mouth of the can is almost exactly as in your prototype using the 16oz can (whereas the orientation is a bit different on the 440ml can, even if we assume an identical label on the far side of the can).
I know you are keeping an eye on this, as you have already developed a reputation for meticulous detail.

Great idea, John... Yours is probably going to be made this way ! (and since they'll probably be 2 holes on the bottom, you'll have to Lego bricks for the price of one !)

Thanks for your appreciation !
There'll probably be one seam. when I made the prototypes, I realized that the only way to properly stick the second label is to make it match the first one side to side. Then you have an extra area that makes a seam on the other side of the first label when the second one is completely sticked.
The label will cover the can like on the original prop. That means that I'll have to erase the original labels with acetone on top and bottom of the cans body. I'll have to do this on the top of some cans, too...
Regarding the release date, I said in the update of my first post that I'll ship these by late November.
