Something similar happened a few months ago, didn't it? Keep checking in, it might be temporary

More likely just needs to pay his domain dues.

Well, since he hasn't answered any of my emails in over 6 months, and the fact that I still have yet to get my parts back from him, or anything else. That along with his site missing, I am thinking something is up. Perhaps his mother or some other personal issues.

Whatever it is I am a bit miffed. I sent him a lot of valuable real gun parts, along with some that did not belong to me. As it is the kit he is currently selling is using a weaver knob he cast off of mine, even though he gave credit to somebody else. If anybody has an email to him other than the one from his site, please inquire.

Andy, that sucks. I'm sorry to hear that happened.

Have you thought about contacting toyres through ebay and seeing if everything is OK?

No one has a phone number for him?

Noeland,

I did exactly that yesterday. Toyres also does not have anything up at the moment which would have told me Sid is still manufacturing at least.

Maybe he took my defense of Rich Coyle personally, not realizing I had been defending both of them, to keep friendly competition alive and the final product the best it could be. Rich just stepped it it way too much.

Either Way, he told me months ago that he would be sending me back my stuff and I have yet to see or hear anything. I do hope he is well and his family is well. I just want my, and my friends parts back.

I have a partial story here:
So I ordered two kits from him about 5 weeks ago. After a week of not receiving them I emailed him and he explained that he has been spending a lot of time in the hospital because his mother was ill.

Within a few more days he sent 3 boxes to avoid custom's problems of which I have received two (being two of the upper portions of the blaster).

Soon after I realized the site was down, and I have yet to receive the lower frames, grips, etc. for my two kits. I emailed him several times now and have not heard anything in return.

I'm not sure if the lower frames, grips, etc. are stuck in customs or what... but I'm hoping they come soon... otherwise I'll have to call my visa company and charge back the cost.

GravityDesignStudios,

When i ordered my kit, it all came within one week. I ordered mine about two weeks (or so) before his site vanished. It also came in two seperate boxes one day apart from each other. I believe he sent them both out the same day.

He is a very honest guy, so i would believe it is not foul play at his end, something else is going on. Still, regardless you need your product or a cc refund.

By the way, i am also in Portland.

Thanks.

I'm in Portland as well (Hillsboro to be exact) and I have a similar story to tell.
When I received my two WorldCon Kit's from Sid they were sent separately and came about a week and a half apart.
I was so happy to receive them that I didn't even complain that the little screws that go on the front left side above the LED's were missing.

About a two weeks ago I decided to send Sid a little note about the screws just to see if I would get a response. Not only did Sid respond Immediately but I had my replacement screws within a week, no charge!

In my experience Sid has always followed through. I have also sent him Original gun parts that where returned when he was finished.

Sometimes it took a while but he always came through.

He's a real stand up guy and I am sure he will get back to you.

I bought a blaster from Sid on Oct 1. Received first package Oct 16, emailed Sid about second box, he replied Oct 17 that the second box had already been shipped. Second box arrived Oct 22.

To my disappointment when I looked for the instructions, his site was down. This is the first time I've built a kit like this, and I would like the instructions (even if it's not that many screws!). I emailed him on Oct 22 and 26th to get instructions, and emailed his eBay account on the 29th. So far no word. I'll let you know if/when I hear from him.

Does anyone have a copy of the instructions? If so I would appreciate a copy/email/verbal description...anything! I would really like to start on my build.

Maybe I should have downloaded the instruction pages while they were up, but I really wasn't expecting his site to go away. It looks like the domain is still registered, but maybe he hasn't paid in a while. I hope he's ok.

P

I saved all the photos from Sid's instructions, but only some of the pictures I saved with text.

If you want you can PM me your email address and I'll send them as jpeg files.

Sid is a really good guy - I'm 110% sure of this.
I can only assume his Mothers illness is connected to his lack of communication.

Don't worry - he'll come through in the end - he always does.

Thanks SaberFreak - will do.

Anson - Thanks - I did a lot of research before buying Sid's kit - a great deal of it here at the summit. After reading his posts, and submissions from many other members (both negative and positive) I'm not worried about his character, only that he may have run into some troubled times. Hope to see him back soon. I'll update this thread if I hear anything.

Just for the record I still have yet to hear from Toyres either. It is very possible he is having family/personal issues, but I must point out that I asked for my parts over 6 months ago, and during this time many others were still getting kits and their parts back, and at the very least were getting emails back from him. Not sure if it is coincidence or not, but he stopped replying to me a short time after Rich got kicked off.

p.s. As I was typing this a song titled "Highly Suspicious" was playing on PBS Austin City Limits. Laughing

OH MAN!!! NOOOOO!
A: I hope everything is ok with Sid.

B: I REALLY hope this doesn't mean no more blasters!!! I was saving just to buy one!

Hopefully he'll find time to post something soon.
