| Other than the cost and obvious color differences can anyone tell me what is unique about the PKD.?...I understand the "Hero" was an edition of 130 and the "PKD" is an edition of 1000..... |

| ...no...I am talking about the "NEW" Offworld product which they ALSO refer to as the "PKD"....the terminology is both consistent and confusing.... |

The name "PKD" as a generic term for the guns is rarely used here, because it was coined by Rick Ross as a name for his fictional version of the guns. (See www.pflagerkatsumata.com ), but it is still mistakenly used by most as a universal name.
The "hero" or "worldcon" version of the gun refers to guns in the past couple years that have tried to match the pictures Karl (AKA phasepistol) took of the hero prop displayed at the Worldcon convention in LA 2006.
The new Offworld changed their paint scheme to more closely match the pictures, as opposed the previous RAS props (Rich Coyle) paint scheme. I believe it is basically a repaint of their old model.

Here is an old comparison photo...
The MIM is the Early name for the Offworld because Monsters in Motion was the first to sell them and also where the unpainted pictures came from. I am pretty sure the new "hero" version is actually repainted early ones that may have not sold and part of the original run.
The original run was also painted after the RAC Props or Richard Coyle C&S version 3 with metal flake black, and silver gripframe.
