Yesterday I posted "My Vintage 'RepDetect'Style Shirt" in the Blade Runner Aesthetic... if you get a second to take a quick look at it, I'd love to know your thoughts...
D'ya think I did okay?

I have to admit, it certainly captures the feel of Deckard's shirt and his style. Maybe even more than the Magnoli Shirt.

I used to be obsessed with his shirts when I was in college in the 80's, and I would buy shirts that I felt were close or gave me the same feel. It might be time for me to revisit this stuff.

Right there with ya, andy...
Back in the late 80's I had 3 or 4 Plaid Flannel shirts that I wore to death (although not in the Summer - not even though it was the CANADIAN Summer!) just because they had a very DIFFERENT, sorta' Rusty Orange/Red/Purple thing going on (and in the case of one shirt in particular the pattern changed at about mid-chest - THAT one was easily my favorite)...
I used to wear them with a trench coat I bought... (the single most expensive article of clothing I owned... at least, at THAT time).
It WAS, to be honest, more a "Highlander" trench than a "Blade Runner" coat (I was always hunting for the elusive "copper-colored Deckard-trench with the cool collar" that I craved so badly!) But the coat I paired these shirts up with was, to me, STILL very cool!
Now, I'll be the first to admit I never really did give a damn whether the people I'd pass on the sidewalk would think I was dressed strangely or whether I fit in. It never bothered me. I think even then I knew we were all tumbling towards a future where more and more people would just stop caring - or commenting about - how someone ELSE was dressed. I guess the movie convinced me that we'd all be living in a cultural fashion mish-mash that would prove me right... eventually.
Rolling Eyes
Anyway, definitely keep us (or at least, Me) posted if you find/buy something you like.
(And hey, if you find something nice in a 42 Regular - and that's NOT your size - well... feel free to pm anytime!)
Wink
Cheers,
Mitch

Sad
Awww... Just my luck...Ain't that always the way? Laughing
Well then, how about this: If one of us finds something "that coulda been hangin' in Deck's closet" - and there's TWO of 'em, we'll each try to keep the other in mind.
Sound like a deal?
In the meantime, I guess the chase (so to speak) is ON my friend... best of luck!
