Its annoyed me since i finished this that it although its got all the bells and whistles, accuracy is not its strongest asset.
All the effort went into getting the lights working and the end result was either lazy or rushed so since ive been Mad lately and Maxed out any form of budget,
i thought i would take the time to get this right.
As the way the lights were mounted were the biggest issue for me, the whole design of the new framing is much more in the spirit of the original.
The whole thing is now much stronger and more versatile than before as well.
Am also adding the 6th revolving yellow light. I have looked at thousands of lights trying to find this one and im convinced that the guys who made it did what im going to do, use a bowl thats already yellow or painted clear yellow and add bits from an existing light to it. I think you can even see the small lip on the bottom of the original. Ive been lucky enough to find a clear colour that actually works, just got to narrow down the correct bowl shape.

Very cool, Tim!
I think you're right with the bowl, doesn't look like an ordinary light for sure. Could even be a Tupperware container?
Looks really amazing. |

That or an industrial type of sconce that you'll typically find inside tunnels, over/under-passes and the likes. |

The more i look at this part, not that there are too many vantage points
the more i think they just used a couple of plastic plates and a plastic bowl to whip it together quickly.
Putting this theory into practice, threw a quick version together after visiting a local discount shop. The bowl shape is not correct and the
plates are set at the wrong angle but if i dont find anything else, will do fine, its easily replaced.
I had a leftover tear drop light so just pulled it apart and installed it on the bottom plate. Still more dressing work to do. the clear colour worked out great,
was a little heavy on the spray perhaps but a lesson learned for next time.
Just on next time, although the bowl is not the perfect shape for the spinner light, it is the perfect shape for the Mad Max lights which cost
an absolute fortune for either the originals or repros, i think i can now replicate them for under $30 sealed and functional.

Cheers Neil, now that i know i can do it very cheaply, you bet.
I just have to find a couple of cheap revolving lights for parts and im away. You can get sirens that look similar on ebay for $20
and the best thing is they have a mic
so i can yell "Hey fella, your a turkey" to people walking past. _________________ Formerly offworld66 |

Good stuff Tim! Yeah; those big lights tend to cost a fortune . But I think that your find will do the trick. |
