Well, weeks ago I bought the last briefing case Spanish edition in BluRay. 3 disks have BluRay quality, the rest DVD:
Disk 1, Final Cut, BluRay
Disk 2, Dangerous Days, DVD
Disk 3, Original Cut, International Cut, Director's Cut, BluRay
Disk 4, Enhancement archive, DVD
Disk 5, Workprint, BluRay
I have a dream... have all the possible snapshots taken from these superbe collection of digital versions of our favourite movie.
I did it.
Hard, has been very hard... Protections, encryptation, read errors, not suitable software to do the task... but, with a lot of patience I did it! Now, I have ALL the frames in these disks separate, one by one, in their original resolution whatever it was. Thousands of files.... (1 million I guess!), more than 1Tb of data. I separate files in folders of not more than 10,000 files each. It's "easier" to locate a particular frame in this way. If not, any access to a full folder will be sick. Some could have more than 300,000 files in!
OK. The funny part is that. I have the file archive. It's impossible to put it online. The reasons are obvius. Copyright, the first one and the most important. I don't want any issue with them! Second, and not trivial, time and hosting room.... I have several hosting account, but none so large! And.... 1Tb of data uploaded could be suicidal!
If previous issues could be overrided.... there is the third... How to make easy to locate and access a particular chapter, scene or frame...? Make thumbnails of all files its a possible automated task... yeah... but, how categorizes scenes? how program and index to locate them? Well... I have some ideas -I'm programmer- but.... it's a very very huge database... Only a record for each frame could produce more than 1 million records in a SQL database!!!!!
So.... I have the files.... and I wanna offer them ONLY under demand. If any of Propsummit members needs a frame or 100... from a particular take, scene, or so, I will be glad to locate them and put in a file, upload here or direct to the user who asks for it, thru email. I will limit this offer to Propsummit, and will limit too the amount of files delivered for user under my own criteria. Obviously, I will not provide the entire archive in full for any reason. My processing method is not secret, anybody could do it. If you are interested, I will guide thru the process. Take a 1,5 Tbyte disc or more, a pair of software applications, and do it. No matter!
I need this archive for my own BR work (the book and my own satisfaction too, I love to browse snapshots frame by frame). Also, I'm very fast locating pictures. It's part of my work too... so, I could locate whatever you want if you describe me enough details about it.
Snapshots will be provided for private use only. No exceptions. I don't wanna be engaged with any derivative work from these pictures, NEVER.

I was wondering if you could send me a snapshot of Rachel's photo, front and back?
I'd love to try and make it for my own collection and it would be a MASSIVE help to me

First the last. Book is in production as well... I have some ideas written, and this archive is part of my daily work in the book. I need good snapshots to illustrate each prop location, so.... I finally did the hard work!
Now, your question. Rachel's photo? WHICH one? Give me some clues.... face, complete body, with black dress, white one, coat.... I HAVE ALL OF THEM!

Yeah! Fortunately, I bought a 1,5Tb external USB disk instead 1Tb (my first idea). Almost the full 1,5Tb are filled now... Snapshots takes 1,2Tb, and the rest of my refernce material, docs, pics and so on, 300Gb more....

You are right my friends, IS a Blade Runner Hard Drive!!!
Well, is only a little part of my system. I guess my total amount of files now is more than 4,7 millions.... :O
These two pics shows the 3 disks inside the PC (1,1Tb), and all the external units. 500Gb Iomega silver USB, 160Gb Futijsu 2.5" USB, 1,5Tb Maxtor USB and a big cabinet with 4 HD drives thru one USB port (1Tb aprox). I think total amount is 4,2 Tb. 1,5Tb devoted to Blade Runner is "only" a 28%...

He he! Not exactly... For now, I only use the computer pictured, but at home there are 2 notebooks (my wife and son), and three more notebooks (subnotebooks) to make tests and other minor tasks, plus a complete PC ever in construction (spare pieces, test hardware...)... oh, and an oldie, a iMac G3 from past times... only to test some compatibility issues with devices or so (really, this one is used very few times).
In the past, I have 8 PC's in LAN to provide service to my own Bulletin Board System. I talk about 1986 or 87, when Internet was a goverment and high school tool only. Very fun times!
So.. there you have some pics of my "control center" and mini BR museum for now!
Nostromo Mother could be a nice project in fact! (mmmm... ESPER could be better I guess!)

You are right. These shelves have between 3,000 and 3,500 books more or less... Only reading titles could be cumbersome!
Well, Vangelis music is too hard to be (well) played, but sometimes I try to do it. The two keyboard visible here (third one is on the floor, still in flight case) are used for fun, notthing more. First one is a Roland VA-3. Great for parties, but lacking famous strings to make Vangelis sounds. Second one is a vintage Yamaha PSR-500, good strings but funny rythm sounds like a Casio toy. Third, almost hidden in the pic, is a vintage analog Yamaha. Still to be tested. Very cheap at ebay....
Really, my favourite one is my classic wall piano. More than 100 years old, restored 30 years ago:
I try to play Memories of Green.... but for now, no acceptable results from my part... (CTS in both hands are one reason). But I till try till done!!!
