Do you think the "Cali S/L Bridge" design was intended to be inside Cobb's 'Leviathan' version of NOstromo? I've looked over the drawing (limited perspective, though, that it offers) and can't see where it might fit with it's enormous bi-lateral bay windows

I always thought this cockpit interior would have been very appropriate for the SNARK version of the ship... I know, the interior & exterior don't match, but their asymetric design really is imho.

Fred

OK here are the designs I know of in no particular order:

Here's a guy building Leviathan:
http://sites.google.com/site/incrediblefruit/leviathan

some additional snark images:

and an early nose:

As far as which one gets my vote for housing the "Split Level Bridge" I don't think any do, Leviathan perhaps could be configured to fit, but I think like Skin Job, the Snark would fit the smooth lines.

Why Fred!? Have you been holding out on us?

Actualy I have seen the thread you posted on with the emergency helmet, quite frankly it scares the holy living crap out of me Shocked Sketchup works well with structural angular stuff but with curvy irregular shapes you have to work it. But I think I'm at the point where I can't put off the detail, so bring it on!

I may have to claim the eagle eye award for this one....I don't think anyone has seen it so far (have they? )

So my question is, how in the world did the Nostromo crew get a white-painted rover up to B deck?? In a small room with little doors none the less? Answers on a postcard to......

Well, I'll be damned Shocked Space Jockey is the winner of the Eagle Eye Award!! Never saw that pic for sure (glad to see the details of the rear and the re-paint)...now as the answer to the question: how did it get there in the Nostromo's corridor? I'll have to get back to you on that one, 'cause my head hurts Confused

An eagle eye indeed! Bravo SJ!

I might have one up on you though, in terms of timing... Since in the deck B photo the rover's tires are not painted, I believe the all gold rover (including the tires) came later... Very Happy

As for HOW it got there, haven't any of you gone to college and pulled a prank on your dean?

One of the crew, and we all know what jokers they were, slipped out of stasis, disassembled and then reassembled it in the hall. I can just hear Dallas now: "Who.. What.. Why I oughta.. Put that back this instant!"

Or maybe it just had bad breaks.

Here's something cool:

A guy from Canada has imported my Sketchup Nostromo into Orbiter. YOU CAN NOW FLY my favorite spaceship! I told him that I will provide a stripped down version of the bridge for inclusion when I finish.

Go here for Orbiter:

http://www.orbiter-forum.com/download.php

And here for the Nostromo and Zeta 2 Reticuli System plug-ins:

http://orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=4886

Unfortunately the mesh got mirrored in the process, but he is working on that.

I had some time to browse my digital archives today... here is what I found, direct from the DVD photo galleries and other sources...

Hope it'll help, Steve !

Gold Fred, Pure Gold! Thanks sooooo much! Shocked Surprised

I obviously have my work cut out for me....

Here is what I have for my emergency helmet so far. The shape is in place (although I don't like the back - it's too squared off) Now on to the detailing

Could it be there's a cargo lift on B deck? Smile (Still begs the question of "why?")

So, Starrigger:

What's the view out the windows look like from, say, Dallas's chair?

Just asking... Wink

Thanks a lot, Steve and JB !

BTW, another concept Nostromo found in the DVD bonuses...

It's funny because the shape reminds me a little of the Space 1999 Eagles... and the ID letters "LM" remind me of the Apollo "LEM" (landing module).

Cool

Fred
