yes, one can go broke here

This next shot is the almost finished bottom, I have added the little bottom thruster pod and tiny little chemical engines..... the landing gear have extended pins so it can be secured down to the diorama..... I am wearing little magnifying glasses so I can see what the hell I am doing..

and the almost completed Nostromo, about ready for paint, complete with antennas, probes, thruster pod, radar dish, ..note thee primed derelict in the background...
Modeling on this scale a blast... a test of nerves.
The base is done ready for paint..consisting of bondo lava rocks and fiberglass flows...

I don't need magnifying glasses JTP; I'm near-sighted so it's easy for me to get very, very close to any details ...but I feel you're pain; some scale are just too much for your eyes and your brain Shocked
Keep it up: it's looking mighty fine!!

...You guys are too kind....thanks Very Happy

Here are the two models with the base coats of paint sitting on the custom "rock-lava base" on the mysterious planetoid.

The Space jockey derelict will get weathered down with corrosion copper green and browns, and the nostromo darkened a bit and metallics around the nacelles and landing struts. The actual models will be pinned down to the base. The derelict with the "horns" canted upward, and the Nostromo sitting on it landing claws.

The derelict is finished... This by far is my favorite model to build... this is my second one, stuck with pretty much the same colors, a but more subdued, and added a corroded copper like patina to all the piping and whatnot. The really fun part about this kit is that when you airbrush it it freakiy colors..that combined with the shape makes it look really bizarre...

Thanks guys!!!! The whole thing is finished... the ships glued down to the base.. I am just thinking of a way to ship it so it does not get broken. I am thinking foam spacers around the diameter of the base to keep it stable in a flat box and insurance... Question
