Karl,

Thank you so much! Do you mind if I host them up and post them so people can see them here?

Thank you again!

Tom

I'd prefer that people not re-host or re-post my photos.

If people want to link some off of THIS thread, for the sake of discussing details of the prop, that would be all right.

I just don't want there to be a feeding frenzy now that I've put up the link. Thanks.

It's just a phase he's going through.

or it doesn't phase Phase Pistol sure doesn't phase me.

Where exactly did the official request to not post images originate? from the guy owning the blaster at Worldcon?

Damn Rick! I am trying to fix your quote, but for the life of me I cant. It works fine when I quote the same thing, but of some reason, your post is busted....

Anyway, as for who made the original request, it was speculated that many people made the request!

I think that the original request to Karl was made by racprops, but I am not sure if Rich originated the request, or someone asked him and then he asked Karl.

Arghh it is all very confusing and ended up making for a very very long thread on the RPF...

Eitherway, it is great to see and have the pictures

Tell Ridley to sit down, take a stress pill, and think things over.

Seriously tho, if "Ridley" or the "owner" wanted to speak to me directly, it is certainly possible. Neither has.

The original "takedown" came from RAC, due to an email he said he got from the prop owner. I believed him, by the way.

Grapevine says the owner is not at all upset about me and my photos. But I will try to keep a low profile anyway (hence no big post on RPF that the pix are back, please).

Anyway that''s where it stands. Move along. Move along. Cross now. Don't walk. Don't walk.

A chance to BEGIN AGAIN in a GOLDEN LAND of opportunity....

The only danger to some people who make a prophet off of non-licensed prop replica is a Cease and Desist from the license owners who happen to be friends(or at least business aquantances) with the Hero prop owner. That is my guess. Shaking the bee's nest at the RPF could get a lot of people there stung. That place is a little more high profile than this place so I don't think even Rich has a problem with them here as long as it is kept somewhat on "the downlow" Wink...so make your copies fast and give them to your friends Twisted Evil

All I did was use the provided quote button. Did again in this post.
Ask the tech guys at RPF, I break stuff there faster than they can find it on the control panels.Very Happy

Andy- I'd venture a guess about 92% of the Blade Runner community had those images on their hard drive within hours of the initial posting or as fast as they could email a fellow BR fan to get them after they were pulled!

I don't know how they set up the Worldcon display, were these the only pictures taken by anyone? or just the only ones to make it to the net and news get back to the owner?

I'd point out that this new posting has MANY more images in it than I ever posted before on RPF. So even if you think you have them all you ought to take a look.

I also included photos I took while the props were IN the display case, since I got some macro closeups thru the glass.

As to other photos, even tho the props were on public display all week, I have never seen any other photos that were taken other than mine.

Yes...I saw all those photos I was wondering what the flight Medals were from? I was also wondering how you got permission to take the Blaster out of the case. I don't think I would have had the balls to ask to do that. At least not before this Smile I also like the fact that all those thinking cap company patches are in their that I own as well as the Alien set with the signatures...mine only has the Ronn Cobb signature...I never got the version with John Mollo's signature on it too. I think someone on the RPF speculated that the owner of Thinking Cap co. was the blaster owner...hmmmmm. All I can say is thank you so much Karl for sharing these with us.
