does anyone know how you'd wire up the green LEDs using just the two single wires shown in the worldcon gun pic?
Do the green LEDs on Rich' model light up? |

ah yes I can see two pairs now, thanks for pointing that out. So I assume you had to drill or hollow out the whole laser site to get these in then? do the green LEDs share the same switch as the red ones?
Also does anybody know where to get the round LED holder things? |

Your welcome and yes I cast a hollow tube in the side rod.
And yes mine turn on with the same switch used for the red ones.
Try a electronics supplier like Mouser.

How do you get that colour and finish on the barrel etc? It's spot-on. |

I may have posted a better explanation somewhere on this site , but the simple version is gun blue, black shoe polish,a lot or tiny pin jabs for the rusting corrosion, brown rust color emamel paint dabbed on with a coarse scouring pad more blue and polish etc.....the sidkit metal did most of the work ,blue helps alot though...the polish helps the blue stay black and takes away the chalky finish....hope this helps! _________________ I've seen things ....you people appear to be intrested in ... |

I am working on my Sidkit metal blaster and I have noticed that some people have melted down some of the included bullets. How hot does the metal need to get? Will one of those mini torches do? |

Nice work Igniters!
The color selection looks fantastic on yours. You can see tho how undersized the grip is. In my photo the grip FILLS my hand... the back strap is on my palm, and my fingers curl tight around the cutouts in front. Yet my hand fits comfortably and my three fingers are entirely below the trigger guard and above the buttplate.
Here's a parting "replicant's eye view" for y'all.

The CS&T WorldCon.
Seems this thread needs it.
A work of art, IMO.

I just used a heavy duty (mains) soldering iron- so a mini blowtorch should be more than adequate! |

I used a steele ladel on top of a hot-plate coil...certain it didn't get any hotter than 400 degree's. When I wanted to rush the whole process I used a small butane torch which worked very nicely.
The bullets were NOT the only part that got put into the melting pot from my
Sid-Kit!

Thanks guys, just what I needed to know. I am not building my kit to exact "Worldcon" specs, but I am replacing the molded screws and such. Trying to get it done by halloween. |

Whoa, whoa... whoa....
OK. So what is this 'Worldcon' gun everyone is talking about here? I can only guess that it is named the worldcon as it was only sold at a convention called worldcon, or is a replica of the original br gun shown at worldcon.
So quesiton is... how do you go about GETTING one... or better yet... where do you go to get any of these and what prices are we looking at?
Now that the 'official' BR gun has been located and shown, any plans on NEW and ACCURATE props being produced for the masses? |

The worldcon blaster is based on the hero prop that was on display at worldcon. Hit up a few of the blaster threads around here and you'll get the skinny pretty fast on it. The one shown in Eagle's photos is the worldcon version that Rich makes. I don't own that particular one myself but I do own a couple of Rich's blasters its the closest you get to the real deal short of building up your own out of original parts.
Far as I know, there are no plans to mass produce these. The Offworld 2019 model is the only mass produced one I know of, and it takes a bit of work to get it looking good out of the box.
Welcome to the boards btw. _________________
