The master is 99% finished... this was a LOT more work than I expected for such a simple project!

Thanks joberg!

Here is a picture of the finished prototype master with the base. Actually there will be a little pin on the base that the derelict will sit on to make the "horns" sit up like in the movie

Tonight I did the first casting of the derelict, although I am 1 day behind schedule in getting the first three prototypes out, I was very surprised at how well the first one came out. The master model disintegrated Sad when I pulled it out as expected, and there was residue in the molds, but after casting the first ship, I was very happy.

although it did pull residue from the base and ship prototype, it was so negligible that I have a very cool model for myself:-) So the first three kits are going to skinjobb66, hole-dweller, and monroeville, (I still need your address please monroeville) shipping is also on me, so do not worry about it. and you guys better give me a good review! Twisted Evil
(just kidding)

Here is the first pull with the pin in the base making it sit upright.

The ship looks great.
I can not wait to get my casting and start painting it.
I may send it out to my painter for an even better paint job than I can do,

Thank you very much guys!

Space Jockey Invasion!

Here are some casts I have done from the new molds I poured Thursday night, The first ship had a bit of residue as I said before from the first casting, that one I kept for myself. So now tonight I have three prototypes ready to ship, and I think it will be an excellent Space Jockey ship representation. On my model I tried to envision what the colors of the ship would be without all the dust, ice and wind blowing over it.

I chose satin rusty burgundy and a flat blueish gray and airbrushed the colors is a pattern that was more akin with nature. I kinda did colors between a snake an some big cat. On top of the colors, I then mixed a bit of green, brown, and gold, and hand painted all the raised piping around the ship. My next step is to add splotchy dark areas all over the ship to represent discoloration and age. I must admit I am having fun on this one, as it is so subjective.

If you see open legs, a being pointing a pistol, and an inward pointed hammer, then you win the "Giger Rorchach" award!

Here is a new pic of the model, I am starting to do an "aged" look to it, and messing around with pictures to make a "planetoid" look with as good a close-up of the hatches and "arms" as my cheap camera would allow ...
