brilliant!
it looks like a labor of love indeed (sounds it too based on the wiring process). great teamwork to all who participated. we've some good peeps here at the Summit!
i also really like your display. simple yet elegant, and it does the centerpiece justice. the geisha backdrop is awesome - well-done Offworld! _________________ two legs bad, four legs good. |

P E R F E C T !!!
The lights really add a lot of realism to that model, it almost looks like a lost production model now !!!
BRAVO Tim !!!

Cheers photek and Fred, much appreciated.
Although it hurt, i managed to pull the lightbar apart without doing too much damage, one flood cover broke in half but i just did a swap with one of the bottom floods.
Marty is going to pre wire 5 of the tiny globes for me so all i have to do is fit the globes and run the wires into the existing electronics. Just have to restore the floods back to a better condition with some sanding and paint.

Good show, Tim!
A bit painful, I'm sure, to break the lightbar apart, however gently... but I'm certain the final result will be worth it.
And Marty sounds like a great friend. _________________ "Your old titles mean nothing here... Captain!" |

Thanks guys, very much appreciated.
Gary, the lights in the tear drops are actual globes, very small, they produce a little heat and draw alot of power but give a warmer glow than leds.
I got them from a local electronics firm, Radio Parts Group.
The smaller lights are actual leds and as Marty supplied these, i will have to get back to you with their details. _________________ Formerly offworld66 |

I remember seeing a link for some photo etched Spinner Logos and some 3D resin spinner logos for the Medicom car.
Does anyone remember the link URL?
Thanks

Was lucky enough to get some spare tear drop light covers to see if i could improve the final result of the clear colour so decided to do some final retro fitting.
I repaced the interior and front grain of rice bulbs with the far more efficient small clear leds. For the front light, two leds were glued together
and to the naked eye looks exactly like the tube style of the original.
Having a few spare taer drops also allowed me to add a red light on the rear of the spinner.
Things i would do differently,
Had i known of the small leds earlier, the bottom lights would also have been powered and blinking and as the two main interior monitors were produced "clear",
placing several flashing leds in these units would be a fairly easy task.
Ive reached the limit of what i can retrofit to the spinner but those of you who are currently putting a conversion together might want to think about the previous ideas.

Look incredible! Awesome work.
I saw somewhere that a Japanese fan made and sold Deckard and Gaff figures in scale to fit the Medicom. I can't find the link though.

Danka, mes amis,
It really is my pride and joy, I envy those of you who are putting one together now as the bottom lights flashing and the lit up dash board would
be totally priceless.
Marty wants to let people know that they can feel free to PM him
if they have any questions on or need something made for the light up.
Gee Andy, those figures would really be the icing on the cake, will do some research myself and hopefully come up with something. _________________ Formerly offworld66 |

The detail, time and care with which you've gone about this project is clearly evident in the brilliant end result.

Cheers Staar and Karl,
Kudos to you for your superb blaster, although you take a superb picture,
it would seem fitting for Karl to take some pictures of it. _________________ Formerly offworld66 |
