You're right Harry, should have also thanked Mike for all his work and research on the first key made for Bob Burns, it's just that the key and box I got were 100% made by Colin / 8th_Passenger (and his wife) !
Anyhow, very happy to own this awesome prop in my ever growing A L I E N collection, thank you again Colin (& Mike) !
Fred
PS : JB you gave me an idea, I'll have to take (and post) pics of my A L I E N collection one of these days...

Harry,
Fred is commenting on the box I have made for him. I don't think he is forgetting Mike had any input. That praise has been documented elsewhere in this thread.
As you know Mike and I collaborated on the key for Bob. I was keen to continue to work with Mike on this project but I think he wanted to have a go at it by himself. At that time we exchanged parts so we would both have enough to finish our own keys.
The boxes I have made are from my own drawings and research. However the hinge and the HD connector on the front are Mike's work. I have credited Mike with this earlier in the thread.
Mike has had a great input on this project and I'm sure Fred will confirm that Mike has a credit engraved on the back panel of the box I have made for him.
The MU TH UR box and key project is over for me now, I have really enjoyed working on it, both with Mike on the key and alone on this series of boxes. I hope MIke will add to this thread when he completes his version of the project.

Okay, I finally have a few minutes where I can post some pictures.
Here are some photo's of the finished boxes and keys. These four have taken me about 18 months to build (in my spare time). Fred has been a very patient man!
I had a few problems with the clear casting resin. Two keys have quite a few bubbles in them. I found out where I was going wrong and was able to get better results on the final two. These keys differ slightly from the one Mike and I did for Bob. I have put more parts in these new ones using the Bonham's auction photo reference and some research that Mike did.
Here are some shots with some of the lights illuminated
Fred, liking your pictures especially the step by step one.
Joberg, thanks for your comments , the part image I posted the other week that had you a little confused was part of the packaging I made to send Fred's key and box in.

Oh yes, forgot to mention that in my former post but YES, the box itself is AWESOME, with tons of graphics and little easter eggs (CON-AM logo for example) !
Colin, my patience was worth the wait and it's nothing compared to the time and hard work (and talent) you have put into these works of art !
Fred
PS : and I can 100% confirm that Mike is credited on the back panel of MU-TH-UR's box. _________________ THE FUTURE IS A THING OF THE PAST
