So Andy...
Just out of curiosity, where are you going to carry that Snubby of yours, on your belt?
When I spoke with Rick I let him know that I had always thought that the Snubby would be a great ankle gun, you know, as a back-up?
He thought that was interesting...

The snub will be for my girlfriend as a shoulder holster or a drop holster I guess. I am looking for an ankle holster for the Stephen Dane 'Leon' Cop from Sidkit. In the scripts, Deckard always had an ankle piece BTW.

That's interesting...I didn't know that!
I always thought that he should have had an ankle gun for the scene where he drops his reguler side-arm.

Hi Noeland

That picture you posted (deckholster%20STUNT) is that holster a screen used piece? It looks pretty perfect to me and I would love to know what I was looking at!

Cheers

I snagged that picture from a profiles in history ebay auction for Deckards "hero stunt". The auction contained quite a few images of a rubber blaster with resin amber grips, that was the only pic of the holster.

So, unless PIH was wrong, I believe it's Deckard's one and only holster, yes.

Noeland that was definitley the Hero holster! Thanks for the info. See the pic. I have a snap from the film. The stiching is perfect. It comes much closer to the leading edge than any of the replicas and also the heavy wear pattern from the bolt is clear on both. Nice one!

I wonder how much it went for? It would have been great to see it reunited with the Hero gun.....

If memory serves, it went for just shy of $4000. Like $3899 or some such.

Thanks for the info.
WoW, if I'd have known about it I would have snapped it up at that price! What a bargain. I wonder where it is now.

What get's me about the replicas is the wire clip is not sewn ino the holster near enough to the edge like that original. At first I thought it didn't really matter but when I tried my gun which is made from all the original gun parts (and weighs quite a bit) I realised that the wire clip being that close to the edge of the holster is really quite important and grips the gun in just the right place, unlike the replicas (including mine) which don't hld it securly enough.

A new conversion I had made by a local guy. Show in comparison to a Phil S Holster with Offworld...

Gun in Phil S. showing difference of fit, and size...

Not a bad job at all, especially considering the condition of the holster. It fits the gun great too. I can post more info on his costs if anyone is interested.

I didn't notice he just stitched it to yours after cutting it off from its original position. My mistake

The belt loop is in the original position. He just cut the top and bottom of the holster and stiched them up, or should I say he cut the shoulder holster down to look like the screen used one. He never modified the belt loop. It does work as is, albeit a tad loose.

Hi

Just wondered how the holster conversion went. Were you happy with what you got back in the post?

Andy, that holster conversion looks fantastic. Was that the standard safari land holster or the longer one?

The conversion is from a longer one...not sure if it was the 6 or 8 inch barrel one or not though. It works good, but needs a more secure belt loop.

Thanks for the info, Andy.

So would I be wasting my time trying to convert with my 4" Rev 1001?

I don't think so. The 4" fits a few of my guns well and securely. it just will have a slightly more tapered end, but it works okay. I would look into getting a better belt loop attached though. the snap one is just to keep the shoulder holster down, not in position, because the rest of the harness does that.
