This is the Halcyon kit pretty much straight out of the box.

Quick and dirty build, that's how I roll. Smile

Nice build, Matt! Great paintwork and weathering. The custom base is excellent, too. It adds a sense of atmosphere/location.

I wish my quick and dirty builds came out looking like yours. Mine just look like they were built quickly and, well, dirtily. Wink

Thanks guys, I really enjoyed building this, i wanted to adjust the wheels to show the four-wheel steering but thought better of it, if I do another I probably will. I also wanted to add lights.

I wasn't too thrilled about the amber colored glass but I worked with what I had. I actually masked the window and sprayed it with dullcoat so you ghet the telltale clean/dirty wiper path.

I didnt realize those pix were so small here are a couple larger ones showing the turret.

Now I just got to find another one... or two...

Beautiful work mate. Your attention to detail is the perfect balance of the correct scale and the correct amount of distressing..

I always loved this vehicle. It reminds me of the troop carriers I drove around in for years and years. We had huge ass stereo systems blasting away in the interiors as well as the finest pin-up material plastered on the inside walls....

Cheers for sharing!

Staar you described my heavy transport to a tee: weapons? Check. Pin-ups? Check. Loud music? Check.
By the way, and not to diminish Matsuo quality job, Raytheon, at www.resinilluminati.com , second page of the Sci-fi models page, did a 1/16 UPC transport with lit interior Shocked Check it out.

Nice build Matt! Could you clarify this please:

Do you mean your Halcyon kit came with an amber windscreen? Shocked I've never heard of that before.

Correct, I believe all the re-relaease halcyon APC's had amber plastic and not clear. Unless mine was a fluke.

That looks terrific, Matsuo. I'm not sure about the clear glass; I had an original APC when they were first released, and I remember the glass was kind of smokey amber look to it; then I scrapped it as I was in my early teens and the paintjob I did on it wasn't that good. I bought another several years later and that too was amber, though I noticed the plastic out the box had a greener look to it.
I had a dropship too when I was 13, but I er... ...dropped it. So I bought that again several years later. That was a great little kit. The second one I bought is still boxed and unbuilt in storage round my folks place in England. Gonna build it one day!
