Other movies you're obsessed with?

Ok, i've asked for advice on other classic sci-fi movies before but now i want to know what other movies you are obsessed with.

For me it would have to be Star Wars.
I've been watching it for most of my life now.
I know, i'm only 22 but i've been watching it since i was about 7.

Another would have to be Das Boot.
A great movie that i never tire of.
Currently reading the book aswell.
I've also made a fan site this past month and just tweaking it out now.

So, what other movies for everyone else?...

The first Mad Max movie would have to be my all time second fav movie. It is mind blowing to realise that this movie was made with a budget
that is almost equal to the sale price of Deckards blaster.
Without going into an analysis of the film, it is the locations that continually draw me to the movie.

I have to drive through some of the locations every week as they are scattered around Melbourne and as some of them havent changed much
it is impossible not to get drawn back to the film.

My dad has a small property near Sunbury, just outside Melbourne where all the highway stuff was shot. There are only two ways into the place and
one is the road used in the last scene as Max sees off the last of the gang in flames through the rear view mirror. Apart from an updated bridge, the old one is still there, behind it,
none of the area has changed.

Amazingly, all the street signs and road markings used in the movie were left behind and remained for many years. They are gone now as the signs were mostly shot at over time and the road markings tared over.

Well every Darren Aronofsky film is an inspired masterpiece, I really would have liked to see what he would have done with Batman...

As far as personal influences I would also have to name:

City of Lost Children (Jean-Pierre Jeunet did Alien IV also)

The Nightmare before Christmas

The Royal Tenenbaums

Koyaanisqatsi

In fact, if I could only recommend 2 films to anyone it would be The Fountain and Koyaanisqatsi...though that might leave people kind of down.

Throw in Zoolander.

Well, for the ones who saw my Walker, I'm obsessed with StarWars, then again, in my youth, all of the Gerry Anderson's films were my favs (especially the models). Besides BR I also loved Tim Burton's vision of Batman (very Goth) and many other movies

After ALIEN and Blade Runner, this is undoubtedly my 3rd favorite movie of all time. such a great story in the style of 1984, with doped up elitist corporate types, rabid football styled fans, and one guy challenging the "ENERGY CORPORATION" in a great gladiatorial type game that increases in intensity every match. For sure a Classic!!!!

Ah, so much better than the so-called 'remake' (*barf*)...

I like it when Ralph Richardson tells Jonathan the central computer has just erased the entire history of the thirteenth century, but says something like "No great loss - just Dante, and a few corrupt popes."

That's from memory so I know it's probably wrong!

I saw the building they used as the company HQ, in Munich (where Rollerball was filmed). It's actually the BMW building, but they covered the big BMW logo with an orange disc. I have photos, somewhere.

Wow very cool mike! yep, you have it about right.... they guy transcribing books because they were getting rid of them lost the 13th century LOL... that was so funny. You are right about the BMW building,...they even threw orange carpeting and decorations in the huge stainless steel lobby.. and the rest of the architecture is all fantastic, all in Germany if I remember correctly. The rink was the olympic arena. I would love to see more pice of those particular buildings. I did see a Modern pic of the BMW place, and it looks the same to this day. Kinda makes it timeless

Yeah the wicker man was great!!! that freaky folk music was a trip!!!!

I never knew there was another version!

man those people were just creepy on that island!!!!!
great taste in movies Clutch! but for me it is a little disturbing to be obsessed with it...I would rather forget about it... Which may be the intended point of the movie

I think they remade the Whicker Man with Nicholas Cage?
Not bothered to even see it though, the original is all that matters

It definitely weirded me out because I went into it blind. Didn't know a thing about the plot. Zardoz was definitely corny, but had some good ideas about immortality and how it isn't all that it's cracked up to be.

There's a great clip on youtube where they turned the Nick Cage version of Wicker Man into a comedy trailer. It is great!
