Sort of like an HTML version of the old ALIEN Photonovel.

Remember the good ole' days when photo novels were the next best thing to actually watching the movie?

Then that little Alien viewer with the crank handle came out and I was on cloud nine!

Yeah I had that LOl! It came with one movie and the little clear plastic light tube that illuminated the movie through the viewer.

They were supposed to make more casettes, but Kenner pulled the whole alien line of toys because parents hated it, and 13 year old kids were too young to get in the movie, I had to beg my mom to take me LOl!!!!

I have the Alien viewer from Kenner, as well as the 18" figure and the board game. Very interesting that they tried to market this as Star Wars at the time....wooops Very Happy

X-rated certificate in the UK when on general release january 1980, you had to be 18 or over, so at 13 no chance of seeing it, unless you climbed on another kids shoulders wore a long coat and had a false moustache and beard, sadly this did not work and like others had to settle for the Alien photonovel until a friends dad got hold of a grainy vhs pirate copy. After all these years still Haven't lost that first time feeling of dread and excitement despite umpteen viewings.

Saw it when I was 22 years old, and my first reaction was...well it's a word starting with F and finishing with K (no, it's not fire-truck) .
From then on, I always watched in interest what kind of other movie that Ridley guy would do in the future...well now we know.

I was nine years old when the film came out, needless to say I knew I wouldn't be allowed to see it so there was no point even asking. However, another kid brought the Alien Movie Novel to school one day so we all got to see the gory bits. For some reason the pics of the Alien coming out of Kane's chest proved to be very popular and I have a vague recollection the book got confiscated by one of the teachers...!
