Since Im on a replica machined part kick, I thought I would find out if anyone was interested in some other parts. Andy was very kind and has handed over a couple Real binding posts a few days ago and it looks like it should be no problem to recreate the nickel plated part. In addition I have a real weaver scope knob and it san be reproduced as well. Let me know what you think.

yes, in for the weaver knob...

yes, for the binding post!

i know this is sacrilege, but anyone ever considered putting a 'laser grip' laser into the binding post? it looks like a good fit, and it's on the right side....
mspaw would you ever make a binding post that fit a laser grip?
like in this pic for a charter arms

You're talking about doing the buttplate as well?

Yep im looking at a number of the most needed parts over time. Mostly i want to get a read of what everyone is looking for but both of thes knobs should be easy to do and Id like to see something sharper than thecast versions. the knurling on castings always feels a bit soft.

‘Yes’ to these parts and anything else you’ll make (buttplate sounds really swell), ‘very gracious of you to be offering them!

Which is exacerbated by a coat of paint that fills in even more fine detailing.

sounds good depending on the outcome Smile will you have access to a real weaver for reference?

I've got a real binding post, but I may be interested in a weaver knob. I'm just not sure if I want to replicate the Worldcon version or more how it was in the film. I like the looks of the Weaver knob, but it just kind of nags at me that it is not screen accurate... which is funny since I'm not really a screen accuracy nazi. I'll have to think this one over...

I have 2 real Weaver knobs, 1 already on my blaster, but I would kill for a new machined binding post. I agree that the cast one is very soft. I have been trying to find an real accurate one for a while now, some close but no cigar so far.

An absolute YES to both! But I personally would love too see the butt plate first! But count me in

ever thought about doing the bolt slide? I find the edges of the indent a little soft on the sidkit version. A nice shiny machined replacement would be awsome!!!

Ooooohhhhh.... I would definitely be in for machined bolt. That is the one piece that bothers me most about the the kit that I have.

These binding posts were commonly found on better speakers and drivers for years. Might want to check your vintage musical resources for this item. Altec Lansing used them extensively on their products.

Just a small warning to those buying these. Many of the vintage stuff I bought with these style binding posts on them had only the larger ones on them. Not sure if these are the larger version or not, but they look like they might be.

I would like an accurately machined version of the slot head screw which was replaced by the weaver knob....
