Maybe or definitely.LMK so I can cancel my snipe. On the average these usually go for $40-$55. I've seen several Canadian sellers with these other the last year. I've passed on those for same reason, Shipping!

I'd suggest if you are going to invest the $ in one as a BR replica prop, you seek the accurate color. This one fits our decor.

Done a bit more checking on the Lightolier lamp (lamp #7)

It would have to be by a designer, James Thurston, his lamps seem to easily bring $300 - $2000 on ebay. I guess Ridley just couldn't pick some cheap-ass knock off lamp... Evil or Very Mad Nooooo he has to go for the refined artsy stuff everytime. Come to think of it, that is why i love the film!

Another note:

The 1939 World's Fair Saturn lamp is also used as a set piece in Twin Peaks. - the red room?

Had a guy contact me today trying to get me not to bid on one because he wants it for his "room" Very Happy

Just picked this up on eBay:

After seeing an original 1939 one go for >$500 not too long ago, I think I'll be more than happy with this reproduction from the 1970's.

Now all I need is a green bulb and I'll be good to go!

***UPDATE***

You gotta love it:

It is black, but I kind of like that better.

The lamp is in much better condition than it looks. It also proves that the shipping costs for most of these are way overstated. It does come apart very easily. I am actually glad it is black instead of the Taupe color, because fits my decor better. I have been talking to one of the employees at the George Eastman House and have talked about doing a possible display for the movie as a celebration for it's 25th anniversary. I just helped with a display for the celebration of 80's movies last week.

The guy who shipped mine was smart enought to take it apart, and thus shipping was only about $15. It was heavy, but the thing comes apart easily, and can fit in a pretty small box and still be padded well.

Andy, Deckard apt. was a set; when you see Ennis house you'll notice that FLW used hardwood flooring in almost 80 % of the house. The rest of the floors are in marble (entrance and stairs to the living room and main corridor leading to the pool).
If my memory serves me well, there's a few scenes in Deckard's apt. that showed another kind of flooring altogether.

1. When he picked up the photo of Raechel's mother: the floor is made of little brownish hexagonal tiles (not seen inside Ennis house).

2. Still photos showing Raechel sitting down at the table near the curio cabinet shows that the flat tiles on the wall are being used for the floor(also not seen inside Ennis house).

Hope it helps.

if they didn't shoot at all inside (and i agree that Deck's conapt was a set) what is interesting is how much effort went into the exterior treatment of the Ennis House, the street, and the neighbor's lots just for the approach shots when Deck drives up. i talked to the guy who lives across the street from the Ennis House. he told me his wife who was there during filming agreed with other neighbors to let them line the street on both sides with the tiles and other details. if this is true then its testament to how thorough Ridley is as the shot only lasts seconds.

also, if it is a set, the set designers were very influenced by the whole Frank LLoyd Wright design approach. one of my favorite props in the Deckard conapt is the set of built-in lamps in his kitchen.

built-ins were a key design element of FLW. i would really like to know more about the lamps in the kitchen but the closest i can find are the Robie house sconces (see below) which have an industrial design but an organic feel with wooden mounts and the globe/bulb casing appears to float in the center.

any of our lamp specialists know more abut the kitchen lamps?

The lamps in the kitchen are probably from an Italian designer; I saw those in the late 70's in one of those interior design mags.
They're simply made out of an articulated rubber hose (tube accordion) and sometimes (but not all the time) the tube has claws grabbing the globe at the top. Easy to build!

Some of those lamps could also be bent and were, therefore, directional.
It's funny to see that both the kitchen and the bathroom are really ''modern'' looking compared to the overall ''Art-Decoish'' feel of the apt.

The hanging kitchen lamps look cobbled together from parts to me. All the parts except the "collars" around the globes can be found at any hardware store. Also the two "collars" look different on each lamp. They also seem to be similar to stuff in Syd Mead's drawings. Meaning they may have been attempting to recreate them. Maybe they were table lamps that they just hung using drainage tubing/conduits?
