Well the Japanese one you allude to is the "Tomenosuke PRO" blank-firing gun by Marushin. More details will be forthcoming on that one.

From what I can gather on their website it's going to be an airsoft version, not a blankfire one, as Japanese legislation is extremely strict these days

This thread should give you some idea on most of what has been made...

http://propsummit.com/viewtopic.php?t=132&start=0

As far as new guns coming out I only have some rumours beyond what you have already seen with the Tomenosuke Pro, and Rich Coyle's latest.

I have heard that Elfin Knights Project is working on a new version, and Offworld may be working on doing a new run with some new parts.

Rick Ross is working on possibly doing some "Film Inspired" guns including what could have been Zhora's gun as well as a Gaff inspired one. We are also looking at the possibility of resurrecting some of his old kits including the PKD-2 which is the most screen accurate version of his guns. It is our hope to make something that has more metal in it too.

Hi Carl, If you can get more info on the Japanese BR Blaster I'd be interested in getting one if you know who will be selling them. Thanks

I don't think they will be available outside of Japan, the last run that was in kit form , some of those got into the US, UK, Europe and the rest of the world didn't get a look in !! and although it doesn't say anything specific on their website , I would suspect the 'new' release to be limited to Japan only.

I'll be sure to let everyone know as soon as Tomenosuke has an announcement about the new gun.

Sounds optimistic Karl Very Happy . One thing we can deduce as since these will not be hand cast and machined, but rather production made, that there should be a larger number of them made.

Well, if they want to keep quality high (and not quantity) they'll probably keep the production fairly low; sure, higher than the metal version but not as high as we think Crying or Very sad and not that cheap either.

Yeah these will be manufactured by Marushin, so I can't believe there won't be a sizeable number of them.

Who here knows about Marushin and blank firing guns? What do they usually go for?

Things like the Hartford "Chif's Special" was rather widely available wasn't it? Didn't that come in airsoft and blank-firing models?

I know a reasonabe amount about Japanese PFC guns as I currently buy/ have bought quite a few, I haven't heard any thing out of Marushin, re this project - but that could be because of confidentiallity non-disclosure - at the present time.
PFC handguns retail around anything from $150 USD to $500 or $600 USD depending on type, size and functions .

If Marushin do produce it, then their could be a number set aside for international sales. as this is their normal policy with 'new' guns .

For example, I buy a small handgun that costs me appx $400 USD plus shipping and customs duty of 17.5% to get it to me here in the UK. I have no idea of the price of the 'new' Pro gun , but I suspect it 'll be above $500.

I will be pleasantly surprised if it's lower !

With Andy's help, Master Ross and I have been formulating a scheme to allow me to retool one of his blasters Matsucorp style for public consumption.

Were still working on the details but in a nutshell here are some things I'd like to do.

Cold cast aluminum resin parts for the body. And cast metal parts for some of the more fragile pieces like the triggers, trigger guard and upper bolt handle.

I do not plan alter any of the guns markings or Doppelganger speciffic features but perhaps add my own proof mark on it somewhere so that it is not coonfused with previous PKD models.

My goal is to make a reasonably priced and durable kit so people can play with them to their hearts content and leave the expensive high end kits in the display case.

More soon.

GREAT news mate and thanks to you guys for getting this up and running.. While not SA, Rick's blasters are quite simply the most elegant and beautiful interpretations of the original prop and combined with your skill set these promise to be something especially exquisite..

Looking forward to seeing how it develops and bravo to all concerned!

Regards

MARK

This will be the PKD-2 version of the gun. Rick no longer has the masters to that gun, and so gave us blessing to try and resurrect it from the hands of Charles Wallace, and also because it is the most accurate to the screen used gun. I have an early kit I will be sending Matt soon to work from. I am very excited to see what Matt will do with this, and hopefully it will influence Rick to want to do more of his guns with Matt.
