Yes, the color of Revell's really amazing.
The same is also available from Humbrol and is called Metal Cote.

The handling is the same: First, apply with a brush and polish after drying with a soft cloth.
With a little practice you achieve useful results.
Even the reflection from metal surfaces is simulated.

Daylight-Photo without flash:

I used the color "polished steel".
There are also "gun metal, polished aluminum, sanded aluminum".
Gun metal is darker as polished steel.

Gero, did you tried to spray a black first and then your metal colour? It gives you a better sheen than to just spray/paint it directly with your finishing colour. Wink

That´s right, but the barrel of the Tome is original black, so i put the color directly with a brush (to simulate the machine tracks) on the plastic.

Either it sold out super fast or they just had five in hand. And their newly redesigned website still sucks balls.

Perhaps I've missed any news here, but is there anything current from Tomenosuke? I've checked the site on occasion over the past several months, but there seems to be no activity BR-wise.

In the aftermath of the tragic quake and tsunami last year, I would certainly assume any future releases would be on hold, at best. I had been corresponding with one of their salespeople at the time, but she has since left the company.

It was rumored about that time that they would be releasing a kit of some version, but I could never confirm that.

I haven't heard anything myself, and my man in Japan has been MIA for a while. Maybe Karl has some news?

On a related topic, I finally got to hold one one of the Tomenosuke Pros today, and I am thoroughly impressed. It really does feel like a real gun, and they also chose the path of making a more idealistic gun rather than a prop replica, which adds to it's in hand impressiveness. Though that makes it more of a toy in a sense, it has the feel of what the gun was supposed to represent, but still retained all the quirks of the real prop. Someday maybe I will have one.

Congratulations are not in order. I know just want one more than before. I was hoping I would get over it once I saw it and got to check it out, but it didn't help. I would feel more sorry for me instead Wink
