Mark, I've bought those screenused Hellboy nazi gold bars last year on eBay from a prop seller... Euro was strong and those bars rather "cheap" (Around 70$ each), compared to nowaday prices (Iirc the same seller now auctions the few he has left for something like 200$ each !)

Lovely stuff to be sure.. Many thanks mate!

Regards

MARK

Cheers, joberg.

Following the impulse purchase of a vintage pistol box around 6 weeks ago, I've started modifying it as a "Blade Runner / Alien universe" prop. The interior cushion and felt was a fun project and will now fit the Off World 2019 blaster. Today, I started weathering the stickers and ammo boxes (heavily borrowed from the amazing work by fellow board members).

Should have this finished in a couple of weeks.

Yes, I can see the influence in that box. Looking a lot like the box Rick Ross did for "packaging" his chess set. It's going to look marvi!

Many thanks! The box has a lovely patina and I knew it would be a great foundation for a Blade Runner inspired piece. Feels good taking something unwanted and unloved and turning it into a display piece for myself.

The box lid lining is now in place. Created a rod for my own back with this exercise as I ended up cutting three separate pieces for the lid (schoolboy error) and they were a real pain to size and fit . Looks rough and beat up already, largely due to my two big left hands! This phase took a lot longer than it should have but it ended up being a lesson in thinking before jumping into action.

Decided to fully line the other compartments whilst I was on a roll. Probably a touch of overkill but the interior definitely looks better now.

Putting a lining inside an already formed box is not easy as it looks (as you have discovered) Some fabric tend to be more forgiving than others (the kind of glue is also a big factor).

Keep up the good work.

Cheers, joberg. Really appreciate your kind words.

I've completed my Bryant blaster box (for the time being, at least). At some point, I may decide to add leather straps for securing the lid and a few more travel decals. Had a genuinely fun time messing around with this little project.

All the stickers were purchased from the inter web and the ammo boxes were a one-off custom request (just needed some small boxes in a hurry and the printer literally copied brandomack's perfect design and another ammo box, minus the "running man"). The interior was made from scratch.

Really enjoying the photos!

This is how I display a few things in my office/art studio for now. I have a new glass cabinet that I intend to use to display the bulk of my prop stuff. But I have more collection than room to display anyhow.

This is above my drawing table.

A book shelf that has most of my reference library in it, I have a few odds and ends I've collected over the years. But, like my prop collection, a lot of it is in boxes and bins still.

My ever changing steampunk blaster iteration, living amongst the gun volumes, and steampunk books.
