Tom and Pete
Thanks for the welcome guys, I'm glad to be a member of this community.
I recieved a DS gun kit (Logan's Run) in the mail the other day (it's SO damn sweet)
I've been slowly tinkering it together and maybe I'll post some pix soon.
It's non-working, so no flashy flash, but I'll make the cool sounds when I snap the photo, maybe that'll help.
Soon after I finish that one I'm going to start on the BR Blaster (sidkit) and I'll show as I go |

I'm Rick. I'm a big Blade Runner fan. Obsessed with Deckards blaster. I own over two dozen variations including several customs. Plus have a few kits in different stages of assembly. Most recently acquired a metal Sidkit.
Some purchased at cons, some ebay, and others through propmakers.
I have four RACs I know of and probably a couple early versions I picked up second hand. Also have a couple Doppleganger magnums, his PKD and one sweet little snubnose! I purchased a harford and am patientluy awaiting it's arrival any day.
As soon as I get organized I am going to take some pictures and let you guys help determine origins of all of them. |

Rick,
That sounds like an awesome setup you have It sounds as if you are ready to outfit the entire Blade Runner force...lol
I cannot wait to see the pics you have, will be interesting to see all the different variances of blasters. Maybe add a few to the comparison picture we have going on in the Blade Runner Prop Forum.
Eitherway, I know you have been here for a little while, but welcome to propsummit still
Take care,

It's good to see another prop fiend representing NY. We should get together sometime and hoist a beer or two. |

New member here saying hello! I've been interested in props since around the mid eighties, even though I don't own that many. I used to drop in at "Golden Age Collectibles" at Pike Place Market in Seattle and drool over the pulse rifles and Star Trek props in the display cabinets. I still have my first prop, it's a Star Trek TOS phaser that I bought at Golden Age. I have no idea of what kit it is, or who made it. It was built and painted when I bought it.
The Blade Runner blaster has always been my favorite prop, and every couple years after I discovered the internet I would do some online research to see if any new information had turned up. Imagine my suprise when I googled "blade runner blaster" a couple months ago and found out about the Worldcon bombshell! Not only that, but I also found that MIM was offering a ready to display blaster for a very resonable price.
I had seen built blasters for sale now and then, but although I loved the prop I just couldn't justify the price tag. I don't think I'm good enough of a model builder to do justice to a kit, so I'd just been admiring others work from afar. So imagine how happy I am now, with a MIM blaster on the way!
My only other BR props are a whiskey glass purchased from Phil Steinschneider and the recent purchase of a replica Deckard ID badge off ebay. I'll be making room in my display case for the group. _________________ If you're not BR Mafia, you're little people! |

Paladin,
Welcome to our little community!! I am still dying to get one of the whiskey glasses, and will hopefully do so sometime in the near future. The hardest part I have always found in prop collecting is trying to find that perfect version of a prop. I think now that we have seen the wonderful WorldCon pictures, we will start seeing many new renditions that are spot on of this blaster.
Thanks for joining up and I hope you enjoy your stay
Tom

That reminds me! I've got to get replacements for mine (2). I dropped one which hit the other, breaking both. |

The first glass I got arrived with a big chip on the bottom. I sent Phil a picture of the damage, and he sent me a free replacement - that's customer service! _________________ If you're not BR Mafia, you're little people! |

I don't have the glass yet either. I have have been meaning to bug Phil about one buying one.
JediRick I most surely have to tak to you about what you know about the timeline/history I have been working on. BTW when you say PKD Magnums, do you mean the PKD1? Rick Ross only made 5 built-ups of those and I know John(Jhyphen) owns one of them... John(Spinner 44) used to own one. I only have one of the 06 versions as of today, ...So that still leaves 4 unacounted for according to my math.

I don't think I own the PKD1. I do not recall seeing one stamped with characters on the barrel.
I just moved all the blasters to the office and hope to unpack this week. I'll take a look. |

Actually I think the PKD1 and magnum(2000) both had the same barrel and characters on it. the new one doesn't. It just says pk-d magnum where the Japanese characters were. I think I am wrong about Jhyphen having the origional magnum. I was think I may have been confusing him with spinner 44 John. Also jhyphen john has his PKD SE with the metal gripframe that he shows pn his site. I wonder who does have the 5 origional magnums. I never asked Rick. He might not tell me. I think I remember someone else showing pics of it on their site or on the RPF. Can't remember who though. Maybe it was you. |

I don't know him personally, but he's a member at the RPF. Now that you are too, you can look him up there and ask him whatever questions you want.
And, by all means, invite him over here. All referrers get a special prize.
(okay, the prize is just a "Thank You" with a . But, it beats a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.) _________________ Pete |

I think I had one of the original magnums. I'm embarrassed to say I sold it, along with the snubby, back in the day when I was a government hack trying to pay my bills. Oh how I miss it.... |

I wish I could remember to whom I sold the 4 out of 5 MAGNUMS back in 2001. I only remember one going to Spinner 44. I would like to know where they ended up.

My latest is a Doppelganger magnum 2006.
