How true!

Everyonce and a while my wife will point at a cherished object and say. "sell that and let's buy a new house"

If she knew whatfirst psycho thought flashes through my mind before Igain control and be nice, she'd never ask again. These are my babies. These are not to be ripped from my warm embrace and sent out into the cold dark world with just anyone...

I have a couple screen used props, nothing from BR and nothing too outrageous. Luckily my wife understand my hobbies and she actually prefers screen used over replicas. Of course she doesn't understand the price differences sometimes. Smile

I collect original comic art, movie props (SU and replicas), some toys, Bowen mini-busts, comics and MR stuff. Every time I turn around I find something else to buy. It's almost a full time job just looking at all the different retailers to see what's new for the day.

Honestly the design throughout the film is one of the reasons i went into industrial design and the logo has always stood out. Just wondering if anyone would be interested in a cnc machined aluminum version if it were to come into being. Smile Ive seen some less than stellar resin takes on it but a nice metal one would be awesome. If there are some takers I can make it happen.

Here are the thoughts. i have access to a cnc shop and the necessary 3d/cad tools. As i had mentiond I have a resin version that leaves a lot to be desired but between the photos Ive seen posted and some mesurement if possible i can build up a digital version and show it to the gang for comments modifications etc. Once in place its an easy step forward to have a batch milled. I would expect that the tooling/machine time and materials will be nearly $50 but thats a guess and i dont want to scare anyone off. I need to see what the run would need to be and get some better #s in place. I know im going to do at least one Smile Im thinking its 8 weeks out to be safe as im currently slammed at work doing some CG for pirates 3. And these projects always take a bit longer than you would like.

Any thoughts?

It sounds like a cool idea, and really $50 wouldn't be terribly exorbitant for a nice aluminum milled Spinner logo.

So just a little update. I’m still up to my eyeballs in work on Pirates but I should be receiving a copy of the real deal here soon to rebuild the cnc data from. Pricing is still contingent on how many and the real machine time but everything is still in the works.

Ill keep you posted.

Hehee sorry, wasn't on the computer much today.

The screenused.com emblem is one of the emblems that was taken off of the original flying spinner that was restored recently by the man I posted a picture of in the spinner thread Wink. Quite a bit of the spinner had to be completely reconstructed... most of it due to the misshap on the way to Miami, and the poor reconstruction that was done to it afterwards.

Just a little update.

Spinner44 was extremely gracious and has loaned me his copy of the badge. I received it a week plus ago and up until this weekend have been up to my eyeballs in Pirates3. Fortunately for all involved the director has approved the shots and I’m done at least for that show. The wrinkle is ive been placed on a 911 for some shots for Diehard4 (ick), but its actually fun stuff. I get to blow stuff up (in CG ofcourse).

Ive started building the badge and we will see how the week progresses. As soon as I have an image Ill post it.

Thanks again.
