Inspired by Fred's work on the concept blaster seen here:

http://propsummit.com/viewtopic.php?t=974&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=40

I was talking to Rich about trying to make one with Amber grips that match the Blaster. So the same as seen above but with the Amber colored grips. A "Deckard back up concept weapon" if you will. Then the rest of the pistol can be finished to match your own blaster.

There are only a few pieces so It would probably not be expensive. Rich is willing to do a small run if we can get enough people interested. Perhaps we can even borrow Fred's idea about lighting the grip if it's okay with Him. Maybe throw in something else that matches the Blaster like a lit site rod or something.

Rich needs 15 people interested. He said he can do it in resin or metal.

Let me know who's interested and I will add you to the list.

jameth metal kit
hauptman metal kit
barrels
skin Job 66 2 metal kit
Sap Goblin metal kit
Command3rCOdy (RPF) plastic fully built
rkpeterson (RPF) metal fully built
propsjohnnyb 2 metal kits
eltee metal, fully built, amber grips, no electronics
Kgaijin metal kit
Ejectorhead metal kit
Jbar (PRF) Metal kit

A few other are chiming in on the thread but have not said specifically that they want one. Let me know

Well, Jameth asked my about making some grips out of my amber plastic, then we talked about making the molds for such grips..

So as I have a set of molds for the COP Gun, (remember my old Leon’s Mothers Defender?) made from a real COP Gun..and this concept gun IS made by cutting back a COP Gun it should be no problem…

The hard problem is getting the barrel holes thought all four barrels in metal.. still working on that.

Plastic barrels I can do 100%.

So onward.

What do you all think about lighting or adding something to link it further to the blaster like a similar sight rod. Or , if it's okay with fred using his idea for a grip light.

Or

Should we just do a basic kit with amber grips and leave it to the individual?????

Personally I love Fred's grip light. Also a lighted sight rod on the left side and one or two red lights like the blaster would be soooo cool.

Maybe that's too much?????

Well My Leon’s Gun had a pair of LEDs that fired though hollow Bullets..

The question will be if there is enough room for LEDs, a switch and battery.

You will have to ask Fred about our using his idea of the lighted grip.

Also Fred's back up has the full barrels, Dain's have them cut back at an angle.

I think so we will not upset Dain or any one else lets go with the full barrels.

I know the next question will be prices.

I would guess:

Plastic model $300.00 painted with Light Effects and Hollow Rounds (see Leon's Gun above..)

Metal model $500.00 with Light Effects and Hollow Rounds (see Leon's Gun above..)

Kit:

Plastic model kit $175.00

Metal Model Kit $250.00

Ouch!!! That's a lot more than I was expecting. Aren't we talking about just a barrel piece and a grip???

Honestly for the price of a metal kit it's only $200 more for one of your full blaster kits.

Well maybe it can come down as we get closer, otherwise I'd be out.

Just too much Crying or Very sad

As this gun with the custom grip was supposed to be Deckard's weapon originally, this project would have a certain symetry.

Phil has a great article on it here:

Well it is a lot of work and trouble...

We are in 2010.

I realise that things are tight which is why I am offering kits as well.

I don't like to do kits.

No prob guys, you can use my idea...

I had enough room in the grip for 3 mini-batteries, a led & a switch, I'll post pics of how I did it if needed...

I'd also be interested in one all-metal version of this gun.

Fred
