Hi All.

For the avoidance of doubt;
a character on the RPF has posted artwork based on my apartment key work on the free paper props thread.
As far as I'm concerned, my work is neither free nor public domain.

Obviously, the fornt of the key has been designed to match the screen used on as closely as possible. He could simply have spent the weekend matching what he has seen on screen. However, the tiny Kanji on the front of my key can't be made out from screen grabs.

Then there's the back of the card. It never appeared so I designed my own. Very strange that his design matches mine, only changing the patent number I put on there (which on mine is my initials and date of birth).

You know it could be one he just found and thought it was free. I have seen that one on RPF and I think I even saved it myself.

Maybe PM him. I once posted something I thought was openly shared. Turned out it was not and the owner let me know so I took it down.

Yes, he acknowledges that he found the design here. That means that he would have to have found it in my sales thread, because that's the only place it exists. That's where I explain that the reverse is my original design, so he would have known what he was looking at and lifting.

That said, the job is done now. EDC ripped me off properly by selling my work. This guy is just sharing it.

What the heck; it's only a 72dpi image he has created and shared. I have now taken a chill pill and moved on. Smile

He has been very polite and has helpfully removed the offending imagery.
