May give slush casting it a try. But I didn't set it up as a two part mold. Matsuo recommended using microspheres as a filler.

More as it develops

Had to do something while waiting for that bird to cook.

Still need to put the selector switches on the main body and add the manufacturer markings and magazine markings. The foregrip has gone back to the drawing board as I wasn't quite satisfied with how the first build came out. So that's the next part of the project. Or if I get a terminal case of the lazies, I'll slap a vertical grip on the bottom rail and call it a SOPMOD variant.

I'd say this build is about 85% of the way to being complete. Comments, critiques, suggestions welcome.

Here's my comment: wow Shocked
Here's my critique:-----------------
Here's my suggestion: give it to me as a Black Friday special sale

Kidding aside, it's really sharp looking (did you use the Matsuo trick?)
Eager to see that handle completing the prop Cool

Couldn't get ahold of microspheres on short notice. So I solid cast it using FeatherLite I had left over. It cut the weight down substantially, but I'm not to fond of how that resin works. Felt I got a better casting with the SmoothCast 325 stuff. Details didn't seem as sharp with the FeatherLite.

Although once the barrel was attached, the balance is much better, not so heavy in the back end. Still hefty when you hold it one handed, but with two hands on it, its not too bad.

May look into building a rotocaster down the line.
