I have been building resin Prop kits for years and have spent most of my time on the TPZ, I do recognize many names here. Very Happy

I have only built a few BR kits with resin and metal like the SID kit. I am completely new to building metal kits and I need some help. I don't even know what tools I need.

I have reciently purchased a 2010 all metal Woldcon kit from Richard Coyle and I also just picked up an all metal worldcon SID Kit.

1. Is there a good builders tutorial for metal kits anywhere?

2. What size taps do I need?

3. What tools do I need>

4. The Coyle kit is rough and it needs a lot of finishing work on the metal, what tools do I start with?

4. How do I color the metal?

Thanks in advance, I appreciate any help I can get.

Well here is my instructions for the 2010:

There are subfolders on many of the parts and assamblies.

If you mess up on a part I can supply you with replacements.

Are the drill bits special?
I know drill sizes like 3/8 and 5mm, but not like #43 or #50 ???

Is there a size range of drill bits needed and a range of tap sizes? since I don't have any drill bits like that or and taps, what kinds of kits should I be looking for?

Most of the sizes used on these are the number sizes 1 to 60

On the taps as you only need a few and you need good ones in the smaller sizes, best to buy alone.

Did I not list them??

Welcome PicassoX! Nice project you got there, with all the help around here, it shouldn't be too difficult to complete those guns. Of course we like to see pics: pics of the build, pics of your chanlenges and finally pics of the entire finished guns Smile

Thanks for the info on the drill bits.

It looks very complete.

It may be the last set of drill bits I will ever need to buy!!!
