Yes, he is and yes, it's from the first script with the storyboard that we all know Wink ...I think that SRS wants some kind of a Segway between the first and the second film (just for the audience who didn't see the first one)

TFS Nexus7. Interesting indeed. I have much confidence in Villeneuve's abilities of pulling off that sequel

Wow, forget those four blokes standing around talking about how much interest they earn, the props in front of them is what I`m interested in. That must be the new blaster right there. Cool

If this is on the actual set, the props on the table might reveal a couple of little things.

There`s an ashtray built into the table so we know people are still on the gaspers in 2049, big part of the BR vibe and a new pack to collect maybe.
Aside from the blasters and Cibi, there`s a pair of shades and what looks like a cigarette lighter.

Goofy pic of the guys but its all very exciting.

Transcribed remarks from Ridely posted by "Blade Runner 2049 News"

Quote:
***SPOILER ALERT*** This is how Ridley Scott has described the opening scene of Blade Runner 2049: "We start off at what I describe as a 'factory farm' - what would be a flat land with farming. Wyoming. Flat, not rolling - you can see for 20 miles. No fences, just plowed, dry dirt. Turn around and you see a massive tree, just dead, but the tree is being supported and kept alive by wires that are holding the tree up. It's a bit like Grapes of Wrath, there's dust, and the tree is still standing. By that tree is a traditional, Grapes of Wrath-type white cottage with a porch. Behind it at a distance of two miles, in the twilight, is this massive combine harvester that's fertilizing this ground. You've got 16 Klieg lights on the front, and this combine is four times the size of this cottage. And now a spinner comes flying in, creating dust. Of course, traditionally chased by a dog that barks, the doors open, a guy gets out and there you've got Rick Deckard. He walks in the cottage, opens the door, sits down, smells stew, sits down and waits for the guy to pull up to the house to arrive. The guy's seen him, so the guy pulls the combine behind the cottage and it towers three stories above it, and the man climbs down from a ladder - a big man. He steps onto the balcony and he goes to Harrison's side. The cottage actually [creaks]; this guy's got to be 350 pounds."

There is a post on RPF about the demise of Propshop (Big Surprise there,...not!) that part of it had to do with them delivering some inferior props to Blade Runner 2.

Anyone here anything???

I had also heard Tomenosuke Blasters will be used on the film???

I read about Propshop entering "administration", the UK equivalent of a bankruptcy here in the states. But that's the first I heard about 16:14/Alcon using Tomenosukes. I doubt that is true. The Blade Runner 2049 facebook group posted a screen cap of a fb post or tweet, I don't remember which, where a BR2 prop guy described how they're building the blaster and if memory serves, it was very similar to the original (Steyr Mannlicher .222 Model SL rifle and Charter Arms .44 Special Police Bulldog). I've looked for that damn post but can't find it.

No spoiler on what Ridley said...He wanted to shoot that scene for a long time and now it's in the can Wink
No Tome in the movie, just good old Charter Arm and Steyr put together by the prop team.

Principal photography wrapped up a week ago and now it's on the cutting room as we speak. October 6th 2017 is the official date.
Saw a French interview with Villeneuve and he said that the set was electric and fantastic; every morning, him and Ryan were looking at each other, giggling and laughing with anticipation; still pinching themselves for the fact that they were shooting the Blade Runner sequel.

Eager to see it for sure, since he said that the first BR inspired him to start making movies in the first place.

''Arrival'' is at the $ 100.000.000 mark right now; it's looking great for him!

Right you are Andy. I'm always reading the "Journal De Montreal" to see if D.Villeneuve said anything about the new BR. Since he's from this city, he's more inclined to do interview (mostly in French) than with other news outlets.

He's still piecing the movie together, no news so far as re-shooting some scenes. Also big surprise for his latest movie being nominated for best music score Confused Despite the glowing review of "Arrival" in Europe (critiques over there are saying that it's an intelligent Sci-Fi movie) it only gathered that nom...

Glad he kept Hampton as the main writer!
