Love it. Now if we could only convince Fred to create another run of his Unicorn Sets. His work is second to none. So good are they, he belongs as a prop maker on BR 2049.

I have Randy's MetroKab kit. Expensive, but it's big and comes with lots of extras. Randy puts a lot of love into his work.

PostPosted: Mon Jan 16, 2017 6:56 am    Post subject: Cooper Metrokit Build Reply with quote

I'm delighted to share news and some photos of an ongoing build of a Randy Cooper Metrokab and base with light kits from Randy Neubert of voodoofx. It is being assembled for me by a truly talented model maker that resides in WI. IMO, aside from a Cooper Spinner, the only thing better I could add to my humble BR collection would be screen used props.

Anyhow, I'm being told that the kab is going to be quite heavy once completed even without the base which rules out displaying in a Detolf cabinet. That's a testament to the excellent quality of Randy's kits. Here are a few photos showing the ongoing construction. Randy posted the first photo on his fb page and it shows the kit shortly before it was shipped.

As I said on the RPF: eager to see it all built and painted. Randy did a great job on that kit for sure.

It's nearly done. My builder did some crease work on the roof and is not getting ready to add decals and weathering.

The Metrokab is complete. The first picture below shows the Kab after the decals were applied before weathering was added. The rest show the completed Kab. The builder's name is Steve Cook and he resides in WI. If you're interested in having him build you a Kab or any other model for that matter, you can contact him by e-mail at cook7010@sbcglobal.net.

Very well made, but it needs more grime (my taste)...and that sidewalk is way too clean Wink
