Awesome work?

Are you definitely going to do a run to sell these?

Castings for making the trigger patterns. Cast from a real Bulldog trigger (supplied by Andy, thanks!).

Here are a couple versions of grip checkering. First is the standard diamond pattern like the original.

And this an engraved Goldberg Arms logo (based on the Smith & Wesson logo) with concentric circles. I love the circles, but I think I want to do the logo as an inlay.

More to come!

Wow. I'm obviously going to have to get a few kits, because I have to have a set of grips with the circles now. That might be the coolest damn thing I've seen on a set of grips . . . maybe ever.

I can see your point about the logo. I think I agree. It does look good, but as an inlay, it should look even better.

Dave, that is phenomenal. I have never seen that grip checkering look that good. This kit is going to be something special for sure.

Wow! Love those designs for the grips! Cool Sharp and cool...the circles are a great addition with the logo in the middle. Even if you make a set with just the logo it'll still rock big time Shocked

Dave - I realise it's early days yet, but will you be offering a choice of grip with these?

Also, are these going to be metal kits or plastic? or a choice of either?

And finally - do you have a price bracket in mind? (so I can start saving Razz)

Aaron,

The kits will probably all come with the transparent amber grips standard and then other versions and custom engraving as add ons. The kits will feature metal threaded inserts for the frame that the grip screws thread into, so there won't be any worries about stripping out delicate resin threads when swapping around grips.

Plastic kits only, I'm not set up for casting metal.

I won't have an idea on price until I've finished the molds and know what hard costs I have invested (you're all lucky I'm not factoring in all my labor!). But this will be a "Premium" kit and priced accordingly. For some frame of reference, my Kelvin Phaser kit (you can see it over at the RPF and Trek Prop Zone) sells for $129 and it was far simpler to produce the patterns for and has far fewer pieces.

While I wait for the 3D printed parts to get here I've been playing around with engraving samples on the grips. Here's one for Tyrell security guards:

And while it may be more fitting for a gun from Watchmen, I still thought it somehow appropriate:

And you guys had to know this was coming:
