Updating that this is for the upcoming "low cost" Blaster, not the 2049 version of the prop.

http://tenshu53.exblog.jp/23587685/

Going forward, Tomenosuke is putting a stamp indicating year of manufacture inside the grips.

Won't this sort of remove the use for transparent grips? One cool factor about the past issues is the translucence and seeing inside the grip! Maybe this will help get that darker amber look tho.

Awesome news! Will US customers be able to order it on that date as well? I'm trying to create an account on the Tenshu site, but it only seems to have fields for Japanese addresses...

With previous editions of the blaster have US customers been able to pre-order direct from the Tenshu site on the day of release? Or do we have to wait until a US distributor like HCG gets some in stock?

If that picture is the actual model it looks like they're going with a full matte receiver. If that's the case I'd like to see a police version or at least release "police style" grips.

Wondering if the GREEN LEDs will work on this version as seen at Japan ComicCon? Also trying to figure out if these can be purchased from US customers.

Well, if the Weaver knob wasn't canon before, it is now:

On the box and photo of the two blasters together, the non-screen-used blaster looks exactly like the retailer version of two versions ago. If that's true it's unfortunate, as that matte finish wasn't remotely close to anything screen accurate. Confused

That matt finish would be unfortunate and would have to be stripped and blued again but at least it will be cheaper and in kit form. Hoping all those other matt parts are metal too.

Almost 100% sure the barrel will not be metal.

Why are these at a lower price point?
What are the main changes compared to the previous Tom-PRO issues?
More plastic?....Less detail somewhere?

Cool

From what I've been able to gather via Google translate the only differences are the packaging will be less "presentable", the dummy bullets will be made of cheaper materials, and the "fade on" effect on the LEDS has been removed (they'll just turn on to full brightness as soon as you hit the switch instead). The actual metal and plastic pieces that make up the blaster body haven't changed in any way. I think it will be essentially identical to the Retailer Pro.

No problem, crater!

The question I have is whether or not HCG is really lowering the price on the 100 fully assembled version they'll be distributing. I've seen them contacting people who were on the waitlist for the HCG exclusive blaster and offering to convert their waitlist orders into pre-orders for this version of the blaster, but no mention that it will actually be cheaper in any way.

Thanks Phase Pistol.

Is this 2049 meant to be the "lower cost" version?
OR...is the $700 lower cost version a separate sale to the $900
version announced by HCG?
Confused. Confused

EDIT: Looks like HCG (USA) are selling them at the usual price, no lower cost price. However, Hollywood-Japan website are selling them at the reduced price....in Japanese Yen..... Allowing for current conversion rate.....
HCG cost ~ US$900 plus shipping
Hollywood Japan cost 75,600 JPYen ~ US$660 plus shipping.

I don't understand how they can say this upcoming 2049 blaster is improved if we just learned that the hero blaster is simply an existing Tomenosuke Pro weathered by the production?

Wouldn't that make one of the earlier Tomenosuke Pro's perfectly screen accurate (with the exception of the weathering) by definition?
