It doesn't help much, but those buttons seem to be all over the sets.

If you have the photonovel - sorry, the pages aren't numbered! - look about four pages in when the red VDU lights up 'Nostromo'. To the right is a panel of six sliders, and above it are these buttons. Interestingly, they're in a block of 7x2, the same as the door switch.

Then right near the end of the book on the shuttle, the page that begins "Slowly, Ripley pushes buttons..." - first photo, there's that block again, the sliders and the buttons. That could mean either the whole thing is a found item, or the crew made multiples, or just cannibalised the bridge set for the Narcissus.

But then if you look during the countdown to self-destruct, the page that begins "30 seconds..." you can see the screen with the big red X and the countdown has these buttons below and beside it, no sliders. Interestingly, they're in rows of 7x2 and 7x1. Hmm... Wink

Buttons from all the TV monitors they used? The sliders may be contrast controls from a TV.

Or more likely a 70s cassette deck.
