Done! Thanks all.

"I'm sorry Dave... I'm afraid I can't do that!"

Well now you can, with this professionally made HAL 9000 replica. This 12 inch tall model of the psychotic computer from "2001 a space odyssey" is made from resin, with two clear plastic domes nested to represent HAL's all-seeing wide angle lens eye.

On the back, two AAA batteries power an LED which lights up the lens interior, giving an effect just like in the movie!

This replica has NO sound effects, only the light. So you do not have to worry about HAL waking up and singing "Daisy" in the middle of the night.

A card on the back of HAL proclaims that he was built by Harrison A. Lorenzana, "Industrial DNA, specializing in all aspects of special effects, props, makeup, puppeteering and more."

This HAL replica has been on display in my (smoke free) home for several years and is sold in "as is" condition. Please ask any questions you may have!

Nice prop for sure Karl...have to ask you: I know that on the RPF there's been discussion about the making of a more accurate HAL; do you know something we don't Wink

Btw: good luck with sale

I know a lot that you don't because I drew the blueprints for SDStudios' HAL.

Suffice to say, if you have the cash to put into it, the SDStudios HAL will be the last word on accuracy (or as close as you're likely to get without spending for an authentic mid-Sixties Nikkor fish-eye wide angle lens).

What I have here on ebay is typical of replicas that have been made up til now. It lights up, it looks like HAL... but beyond that it's not super accurate.

Karl
