I love the original PKD 1 from Rick Ross that came out in the late 90's. I have three kits of it and it was my intro into the Prop aspect of Blade Runner.
I Was wondering which Steyr Mannlicher rifle was initially used for Rick's PKD blaster as it was much larger than the film used .222 SL. I remember it being mentioned once but for the life of me can't seem to find that thread.
Planning a new build and would love info on this.

Did he base that sculpt on a real gun? I was under the impression he just used a VHS copy of the film and paused it a lot to create that model. Along with truckloads of skill and talent of course.

He never used the Steyr at all. He made it all from scratch. Some Japanese models did use the Steyr SSG magazine housing as reference though. Rick's sculpt is 100% his own though.

Wow even more impressed now with Rick's Skills.
Would any of the existing Steyr Models match up, like the mag housing for example? |

I don't think any of the steyr made parts will match up, no. You might be able to add steyr part so one of Rick's kits with some doing if you tried though.
