Very cool. Still I doubt Lucasfilm or the FLW trust will let these get by, but I hope they do.

TFS Ki-Djowac...for once the FLLW tile is correct , but as Andy said, those tiles are not going to fly very high with with the interested parties Andy mentioned...
If one of us is connected to face book, we should ask if they optained permission to repro these on a large scale Confused

These exact same thoughts crossed my mind too. In any case, interested to see if they'll make it or if they get pulled from their kickstarter idea.

I'm tempted with putting some of those on my wall though Smile Would be cool.

Not on facebook myself, so if anyone has more intel, please do share Smile

I'm not terribly impressed with their Ennis Tile pattern. The draw depths aren't correct. And an 8 inch tile is really too small to do a correct interior.

this seems more like an attempt to get other people to buy them a vacu forming machine rather than a real "project" driven kicksdtarter campaign. And as soon as the FLW Foundation or Lucasfilm gets wind of it they will shut them down for sure.

This is more of an Ennis House Foundation or Ennis-Brown house owner issue. The Ennis House Foundation used to be the ones that sent out cease and desist orders when they owned the home, as they were selling tiles on their website many years ago.

Since billionaire Ron Burkle bought the house in July of this year, he may be the guy who now owns the rights to the home and its designs. Will he nix the Kickstarter project?

Honestly, I think the Ennis House Foundation and Burkle have other fish to fry. And since no one from the Foundation or on the Ennis-Brown premises appears to be selling reproductions of the tile, they may not care about reproductions for now.

Burkle (net worth $3.2 billion) will probably restore the house to its former grandeur, which is a great thing. The house also has to be open to the public 12 days per year under the purchase agreement.

Considering the original asking price was $15 million, Burkle got it for a steal at $4.5 million.

I don't know if the Ennis house, as Philippe has mentioned, is no longer part of the FLLW Foundation; they could have a say on the C&D front as in the repro of a particular FLLW design Confused If in the past, the order was coming directly from the Ennis-Brown Group, then it's an other matter altogether, since the new owner has something else to do while restoring the house to its original state... (you never know, he might need more zeros in his bank account Wink ).

Anyone have a vacuform machine that can handle something 16"X16" square? I have an interesting concrete form some here may find interesting.
PM me.

In the words of the bard,
"Discretion is the better part of valor."

machine + concrete buck = decor

So, this Kickstarter didn't happen. I'm quite sure they would have legal problems atleast when Star Wars Death Star tiles were reproduced.

I played some time ago with my PS3 Vidzone and random playlist gave me this musicvideo:

Had no idea about such a video been made on Ennis House. Perhaps it has been posted here before, can't just remember.
