Disassembly of an OffWorld C (that has been slightly modified)

This is an OffWorld, OffWorld C" or OffWorld Deluxe version disassembly procedure.

Your "as issued" version will be SLIGHTLY different.

I have modified mine in the following way:

1) Added fishing weights for a more "realistic feel" through out the replica - barrel / ammo housing / cylinder. (filled the fake rounds with fishing sinkers)

2) Replaced the "as issued" upper receiver with a corrected spelling version that has been striped. (which I punched on e bay for 55.00)

3) Replaced the LED board with standard wiring and battery (I soldered and wired it according to SID kit instruction) mine fried.

4) Added the colliers around the LED's - used standard plastic tubing cut to fit and painted. (couldn't find any LED holders that would fit)

5) Added the "ON - OFF" type, created it on a standard printer with 4 pt type. White type on black background, cut them out with an xacto knife, first placing some shiny clear packing tape over it BEFORE I cut them out. Glued them in using Elmer's white glue.

6) Painted the on-off switch flat white.

7) Filed off the edges on the side screw until it is round.

Cool Removed the "Safety Switch" with a razor saw also cut it down in depth and super glued it to the side of the receiver INSTEAD of it remaining attached to the side cover. (this makes it MUCH easier to remove the receiver)

9) Up graded to the metal trigger guard / handle / butt plate kit - painted the bottom of the butt plate semi-gloss black.

10) Replaced some of the internal screws with slightly longer version for better tightening ability.

11) Replaced the weaver knob with the screen accurate slotted screw (purchased it from RACPROPS at the same time I bought one of his kits)

I have also added super glue to some places on the replica for re enforcement. (along the handle to the outer grip, attachment point of the trigger guard, and inside of the site rode attach points)

Something to conceder IF you want to make any of the same modifications.

Added weight puts more stress on the frame and MIGHT lead to cracking as the frame was NOT designed to handle the extra weight. (see 24_step for an example of this - Super glue weld - not visible once the grips are in place AND it is sturdier than the original)

Just remember, anything that breaks or you strip, CAN be corrected with TLC and patience.

On to the disassembly:

Tools: See 1_Tools A.JPG and 1_Tools B.JPG. Allen wrenches, SMALL screw drivers. A shows the diferant sizes you will need. I do NOT know the exact sizes.

Or go buy a metric AND standard Allen wrench set as shown in B. You will need one or the other.

First loosen or remove the set screw (2_step.JPG, 3_step.JPG) I left it in, just unscrewed it enough to remove the bolt.

Slide the bolt out. On some OffWorld's, you also MIGHT have to loosen the one of the three screws on top of the receiver, as it catches the bolt indent when you try to slide it out. (4_step.JPG)

Remove both front receiver screws (5_step.JPG) set the screws aside. REMEMBER were they came out of.

Lift the FRONT of the receiver up (6_step.JPG, 7_step.JPG & 8_step.JPG) and back slightly. It might catch on the Safety. It is a tight fit at that point. Be gentle but firm.

Remove the butt plate.(9_step.JPG, 10_step_clp.JPG & 10_step_JPG)
NOTE; the screws for the butt plate are TWO different sizes. The shorter one goes in the back hole the longer one in the front hole. D'ho!
If you are NOT going to add weight to the plastic version of the butt plate you can skip this.

Right side cover removal; (11_step.JPG & 12_step.JPG) unscrew both hex nuts and set aside. You will not be able to take the side cover off yet.

Remove the lower ammo(13_step.JPG) housing cover. Set aside. Turn the replica upside down(14_step.JPG) and remove both hex nuts.(15_step.JPG)
NOTE; the round lead fishing weights shown will NOT be on your Blaster. I added these for extra weight.
They are super glued to the top inside of the ammo housing NOT the barrel.

Turn the blaster around and OPEN the cylinder. You will see a hex nut (16_step.JPG) remove it and set aside.
The Right side cover can now be removed (17_step.JPG)

Left side cover removal; Unscrew both hex nuts (18_step.JPG) the left side cover will lift off.

Your Blaster should look like (19_step) minus the allen keys. I am showing which ones were used for what.

Now you will need your small screw driver. See (20_step.JPG) and unscrew the brass screw. Set it aside. The ammo cylinder should lift out.(21_step.JPG)

You can disassemble it if you want to.(22_step.JPG) It only goes to gather ONE way and is very simple. Just do NOT lose the spring inside. (IF you do, it can be replaced with a standard spring from a ball point pen cut to fit.) just HOW do I know this you ask? D'ho!

Grips disassembly as follows,(23_step.JPG & 23_step_clp.JPG) unscrew the top and bottom hex nuts. Repeat on the other side.

I only did one side (24_step.JPG) for this demo.

Your blaster should look like (25_step.JPG) at this point.

Removing the out side grip; you MIGHT need a small pair of pliers for this, or not. Depends on how tight the inside nut is. See (26_step.JPG, 27_step.JPG & 28_step.JPG
NOTE: the hex nut shown in (28_step.JPG) does NOT secure anything. It is for looks only as the "real" prop has a hex nut there. (It DOES screw into the frame on the "real" prop and helps secure the outer grip to the inner grip)

To remove the trigger guard, slide it either away from you or towards you, which ever you find easier. Mine is "spot welded" with super glue so I did not want to remove it. It snaps in and out. the front screw from (20_step.JPG) secures it in place. Once that screw is removed, it is just pressure fit.

Hope this helps.
